A control device controls an authentication process related to device authentication together with at least one communication device on a basis of information included in a signal received through wireless communication with the communication device. The control device performs the control in such a manner that authentication information is changed for each process group in which the authentication process is repeated more than once. Signals transmitted or received in the authentication process include a trigger signal, a request signal, and a response signal. The control device executes the process group in which the authentication process is repeated more than once for the trigger signal, the request signal, and the response signal, and changes the authentication information to be used for each of the trigger signal, the request signal, and the response signal each time the process group is executed.

A lock control system includes: an automatic door lock configured to unlock and lock a door of a vehicle; a wireless transceiver configured to wirelessly receive a first unique identifier for a period of use of the vehicle by a non-owner of the vehicle from a server that is remote from the vehicle; an input device configured to capture a second unique identifier output by an electronic device through a glass component of the vehicle; and a lock control module configured to: compare the first unique identifier with the second unique identifier; and selectively actuate the automatic door lock thereby unlocking the door in response to a determination that the second unique identifier is the same as the first unique identifier.

When at least one of the doors of the automobile is determined to be opened abnormally, the method controls an alarm unit of the automobile to output a preset warning.
Secure telematics
A telematics system that includes a security controller is provided. The security controller is responsible for ensuring secure access to and controlled use of resources in the vehicle. The security measures relied on by the security controller can be based on digital certificates that grant rights to certificate holders, e.g., application developers. In the case in which applications are to be used with vehicle resources, procedures are implemented to make sure that certified applications do not jeopardize vehicle resources' security and vehicle users' safety. Relationships among interested entities are established to promote and support secure vehicle resource access and usage. The entities can include vehicle makers, communication service providers, communication apparatus vendors, vehicle subsystem suppliers, application developers, as well as vehicle owners/users. At least some of the entities can be members of a federation established to enhance and facilitate secure access and usage of vehicle resources.
ON-BOARD COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, AND PORTABLE DEVICE
In an on-board communication system, an on-board device transmits detection signals from a plurality of antennas disposed in a vehicle, and a plurality of portable devices each receive the detection signals and transmit response signals corresponding to the received detection signals. Each portable device measures an elapsed time from when the processing start signal is received, and (i) transmits a first response signal that includes information corresponding to the received detection signals, and (ii) when a specified time has elapsed from receipt of the processing start signal, transmits a second response signal including the same information as the information included in the first response signal. Position detection of the portable devices is performed based on the response signals.
METHOD FOR ACTUATING AN ACCESS SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for actuating an access system of a motor vehicle uses an ultra-wideband (UWB) unit operated in a radar mode to detect a position of a person approaching the motor vehicle and perform a body position scan of the person in order to detect a body position of the person. An orientation of the face of the person and/or a line of sight of the person is determined by the UWB unit. The access system is actuated when this person looks in the direction of a vehicle door of the motor vehicle.
