Jack Stabilizer Apparatus
20200324741 · 2020-10-15 ·

A jack stabilizing apparatus that is operably coupled intermediate a scissor jack and a portion of a frame of a recreational trailer and is configured to substantially inhibit movement of the recreational trailer ensuing being lifted by the scissor jack. The jack stabilizing apparatus includes a coupling member that is secured to the scissor jack. A frame attachment member is operably coupled to the frame of the recreational trailer. A support arm is intermediate the coupling member and the frame attachment member and operably coupled to each. The support member includes a first portion and a second portion that are slidably coupled so as to provide length adjustment thereof. The frame attachment member is provided in several alternative embodiments so as to be operably coupled to either a box style frame or an i-beam style frame of a recreational trailer.

Attachable leveling system

A vehicle leveling system includes a jack adapted to be mounted to a vehicle frame without modifying the vehicle frame. In a particular embodiment, the jack includes a first bracket adapted to urge against the bottom surface of the frame and a second bracket adapted to be mounted to a surface of the vehicle adjacent the frame. In a more particular embodiment, the first bracket includes a horizontal adjustment feature and the second bracket includes a vertical adjustment feature. In another particular embodiment, the jack is coupled to the vehicle frame via a bracket that is adapted to be mounted to manufacturer-provided apertures formed in the frame during the manufacture of the vehicle.

Platform twist detection and mitigation method and apparatus

A platform twist mitigation apparatus operable to extend jacks into engagement with a surface disposed below a platform carrying the jacks, and to alternately extend and retract the jacks to change platform attitude relative to the surface. Tilt sensors are supported at spaced locations on the platform. An electronic control module is programmed to detect a platform twist condition in response to angle data received from the tilt sensors and to mitigate the platform twist condition by operating or modifying the operation of the jacks.

Vehicle with interchangeable drive modules

Vehicles may be composed of a relatively few number of modules that are assembled together during a final assembly process. An example vehicle may include a body module, a first drive module coupled to a first end of the body module, and a second drive module coupled to a second end of the body module. One or both of the drive modules may include a pair of wheels, a battery, an electric drive motor, and/or a heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. One or both of the drive modules may also include a crash structure to absorb impacts. If a component of a drive module fails or is damaged, the drive module can be quickly and easily replaced with a new drive module, minimizing vehicle down time.
