A contact arrangement for an eye examining instrument is located between an eye that is examined and a section of the eye examining instrument, the section is directed toward the eye that is examined. The contact arrangement is disposable, biocompatible with skin and made of biodegradable material. A first side of the contact arrangement is set in contact with the skin around the eye that is examined. A second side of the contact arrangement is attached with a counterpart of the eye examining instrument in a tool-free manner without touching with hands to the contact arrangement, the attachment being releasable, at the section, which is directed toward the eye that is examined.

GUIDING FIXATION METHOD APPLIED TO EYE EXAMINATION DEVICE

A guiding fixation method applied to an eye examination device is disclosed. The eye examination device at least includes a first default light source and a second default light source. The guiding fixation method includes steps of: (a) disposing at least one dummy light source between the first default light source and the second default light source; (b) when a distance between the eye examination device and an eye changes, the dummy light source emitting light to guide the eye to gaze at it; (c) when the distance between the eye examination device and the eye stops changing, switching to the first default light source and/or the second default light source to emit light to guide the eye to gaze at it.

Photobleaching device and method and dark adapted perimetry device and dark adapted perimetry method

A dark adapted perimetry method includes the steps of at least partially photobleaching an eye, selectively illuminating a plurality of stimulus target light sources at a predetermined luminance, and recording a response data including triggering an input device in response to the selective illumination. The plurality of stimulus target light sources define a stimulus target array positioned within a concave array guide. Each stimulus target light source is illuminated by a respective LED complex light source.

Systems and methods for assessment of ocular cyclotorsion

Systems and methods for assessing ocular cyclotorsion are provided utilizing an inter-aural axis location assembly, with a first gyroscope connected to the inter-aural axis location assembly, and a camera assembly for retinal imaging, with a second gyroscope connected to the camera assembly. A processor is utilized to calculate angles between the disc-foveal line, skull-horizontal axis, and earth-horizontal axis for use in determining ocular cyclotorsion, and the determinations or calculations may be used to generate a diagnostic report that may be provided via an output device.

COMPUTERIZED REFRACTION AND ASTIGMATISM DETERMINATION

The present disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for determining the refractive error of a patient, more particularly determining the patient's refractive error by using a computerized screen, and providing a prescription for the patient's preferred type of corrective lenses. In a general embodiment, the present disclosure provides a method for determining a corrective lenses prescription of a patient. The method includes, separately, for each eye of the patient, determining an astigmatism prescription for the patient via a computerized screen and without the use of a refractor lens assembly, including instructing the patient to move a known, fixed distance away from a computerized screen and testing for a cylinder component by sequentially presenting at least two cylinder diagrams to the patient via the computerized screen and enabling the patient to select at least one input per cylinder diagram, where those inputs correspond to cylinder measurements for determining the prescription.

A booth, for using the Teller technique to quantify visual acuity, irrespective of a patient's verbal ability booth comprises a modular structure, making up an isolated environment for the patient to perform the acuity test through the reading of Teller cards. The patient is accommodated in a visualization area at the central portion of a movable wall sliding via wheels on rails installed on the ground and ceiling by profiles. The modular structure presents a white and opaque tone, as well as its own lighting which is controlled and proper according to the test, in front of a movable wall and coplanar to a rear wall of booth. The movable wall sliding effects the distance adjustment between the patient and the visualization area cards where the minimum distance is equivalent 38 centimeters and the maximum distance is 55 or 84 centimeters as accuracy dictates, according to the patient's features.
