Autonomous driving vehicle three-point turn

In one embodiment, an autonomous driving vehicle (ADV) operates in an on-lane mode, where the ADV follows a path along a vehicle lane. In response to determining that the ADV is approaching a dead-end, the ADV switches to an open-space mode. While in the open-space mode, the ADV conducts a three-point turn using a series of steering and throttle commands to generate forward and reverse movements until the ADV is within a) a threshold heading, and b) a threshold distance, relative to the vehicle lane. The ADV can then return to the on-lane mode and resume along the vehicle lane away from the dead-end.

Integral rotary transport mechanism

An integral rotary transport mechanism includes a turntable, a loading board, a lifting platform, two vehicle centering devices, a rotating device and two positioning members. A central portion of the turntable is provided with a first groove, by narrowing and extending which a second groove is formed. The lifting platform is liftable and can be lowered to a bottom of the second groove to form an activity space between the lifting platform and the loading board. The rotating device is disposed at a bottom of the turntable driven to be rotated 180 degrees. The vehicle centering device, through which cars can be accurately adjusted to middle of the loading board placed in the first groove, is disposed on the turntable and located at opposite sides of the loading board. The positioning member is disposed on the turntable and located at the other opposite sides of the loading board.

OPTIONAL CENTER LIFT JACKING SYSTEM ACCESSORY FOR TURNTABLE ROTATION DEVICE FOR ASSISTING WITH SAFE AND CONTROLLED DIRECTIONAL MOVEMENT AND PIVOTING OF STATIONARY MOTORCYCLES

A turntable for the rotation of automobiles, other motor vehicles, and displays with an optional center lift jacking system accessory. The turntable includes base arc and centering segments, arm and deck segments. The deck segment receives a vehicle. The turntable includes a center hub connecting the deck segments. The center hub comprises a removable center plate and houses telescoping cylinders that make up and comprise the optional center lift jacking system. A removable cradle mounts to the jacking system which holds the vehicle safely in place when raising or lowering the vehicle. The turntable includes rotating arms extending from the center plate, and a gear segment connected to the arms. The gear segment connects to a drive shaft via a worm gear. The turntable includes a motor connecting the drive shaft causing the gear to rotate, which in turn rotates the gear segment. Rotation of the gear segment causes the arms to rotate with support from the roller assemblies. Rotation of the arms rotates the center hub, which in turn rotates the deck segments with the vehicle.
