Parking brake apparatus for saddled vehicle
To provide a parking brake apparatus for a saddled vehicle actuated in response to a reverse rotation on a throttle grip which is set in a simplified structure. A parking brake apparatus for a saddled vehicle includes a parking brake caliper configured to restrict a rotation of a rear wheel while the motorcycle is parked; a steering handle configured to steer a front wheel; and a throttle grip mounted on the steering handle and configured to control output of a power unit. The control unit actuates the parking brake caliper by a motor when at least the throttle grip is reversely rotated and the vehicle speed is zero. The throttle grip being reversely rotated is detected according to information from a throttle position sensor which is interlocked with the throttle grip.
Controller and control method for vehicle
A controller for a vehicle is provided. One of a prime mover that drives a front wheel and a prime mover that drives a rear wheel is referred to as a first prime mover, and the other one is referred to as a second prime mover. The controller generates, when a required torque required for a drive wheel of the vehicle is a braking torque, the braking torque from the first prime mover. The controller limits, when the required torque changes from the braking torque to a driving torque, an increase in the driving torque generated from the first prime mover during a set period. The controller generates, from the second prime mover that does not generate the braking torque, the driving torque required during execution of the torque limit process.
Hydraulic brake system
In a hydraulic brake system, when a main power supply is in an abnormal condition in which it cannot supply electric power to a pump motor, etc., the pump motor is operated with electric power supplied from an auxiliary power supply, irrespective of the presence of a braking request. Thus, when the main power supply is in the abnormal condition, the number of times inrush current flows is reduced. As a result, the voltage of the auxiliary power supply is less likely to be lower than an operation minimum voltage, and the hydraulic brake system is less likely to be unable to be operated.

In a hydraulic brake system, when a main power supply is in an abnormal condition in which it cannot supply electric power to a pump motor, etc., the pump motor is operated with electric power supplied from an auxiliary power supply, irrespective of the presence of a braking request. Thus, when the main power supply is in the abnormal condition, the number of times inrush current flows is reduced. As a result, the voltage of the auxiliary power supply is less likely to be lower than an operation minimum voltage, and the hydraulic brake system is less likely to be unable to be operated.
Vehicle assist system
A method of braking a host vehicle traveling behind a second vehicle includes acquiring visual images of the second vehicle and determining an actual deceleration of the second vehicle based on the visual images. Non-visible light emitted by the second vehicle is detected. A commanded deceleration of the second vehicle is determined based on the detected light. A first signal is produced indicative of the actual deceleration. A second signal is produced indicative of the commanded deceleration. Braking of the host vehicle is initiated in response to at least one of the first and second signals.
Vehicle assist system
A method of braking a host vehicle traveling behind a second vehicle includes acquiring visual images of the second vehicle and determining an actual deceleration of the second vehicle based on the visual images. Non-visible light emitted by the second vehicle is detected. A commanded deceleration of the second vehicle is determined based on the detected light. A first signal is produced indicative of the actual deceleration. A second signal is produced indicative of the commanded deceleration. Braking of the host vehicle is initiated in response to at least one of the first and second signals.

A method of controlling an electrified vehicle to prevent a collision thereof includes: determining whether an accelerator pedal is erroneously operated in the situation in which an obstacle is detected to be present in a traveling path; and when it is determined that the accelerator pedal is erroneously operated, performing braking control such that at least one of hydraulic braking or regenerative braking is selectively performed in a plurality of braking sections determined based on a current vehicle speed and a distance to the obstacle.

A method of controlling an electrified vehicle to prevent a collision thereof includes: determining whether an accelerator pedal is erroneously operated in the situation in which an obstacle is detected to be present in a traveling path; and when it is determined that the accelerator pedal is erroneously operated, performing braking control such that at least one of hydraulic braking or regenerative braking is selectively performed in a plurality of braking sections determined based on a current vehicle speed and a distance to the obstacle.

The method includes acquiring at least one image of an external environment of the vehicle, determining a road condition of a road of the external environment of the vehicle based on the acquired at least one image, obtaining, based on the determined road condition and from memory, a braking table of one or more braking tables including distances and corresponding vehicle speeds at which the braking operation is performed, acquiring a speed of the vehicle and a distance between a preceding object and the vehicle, comparing the acquired speed of the vehicle and the acquired distance between the preceding object and the vehicle to the braking table, and sending, based on the comparison, an instruction to perform the braking operation of the vehicle.
