Braking control device
A braking control device includes a first control unit configured to execute first control for reducing a target braking force, which is either a front-wheel braking force to be applied to front wheels of a vehicle or a rear-wheel braking force to be applied to rear wheels during increasing of deceleration of the vehicle, in a case that a behavior of the vehicle is unstable as the target braking force is increased; and a second control unit configured to execute second control for reducing a rate of increase in the target braking force and increasing a rate of increase in the front-wheel braking force or the rear-wheel braking force, which is not the target braking force, prior to execution of the first control.
ROTATION RESTRICTION CONTROL DEVICE, ROTATION RESTRICTION DEVICE, AND VEHICLE
A rotation restriction control device comprises a selection unit that selects a rotation restriction state, on the basis of a road surface when parking a vehicle traveling on the road surface, and a control unit that controls a rotation restriction state of a restriction mechanism in accordance with a selection result from the selection unit when parking the vehicle.
Method for regulating driving stability
A method in which the driving behavior of a vehicle is influenced depending on surroundings data in order to support an evasive maneuver as soon as a risk of collision is detected using the data from surroundings sensors and vehicle sensors. The vehicle has an electronically regulated braking system which allows a driver-independent build-up and a modulation of the braking forces on the individual wheels of the vehicle, and a steering input by the drive is supported in the event of a detected risk of collision by a driver-independent braking intervention. A brake slip of at least one wheel of the vehicle is limited to a first slip threshold in a first phase of the evasive maneuver and to a second slip threshold in a second phase of the evasive maneuver, wherein the first slip threshold is smaller than the second slip threshold. The invention further relates to an electronic controller.
Trailer backup aid speed limiting via braking
A trailer backup assist system for a vehicle reversing a trailer is provided herein. The system includes a brake system and a steering system of the vehicle. A controller is configured to output a brake torque request to the brake system and a steering command to the steering system, wherein the brake torque request and the steering command are each based at least in part on a trailer mass.
System and Method For Operating A Motor Vehicle With A Brake Holding Assist
Determining a brake torque reduction parameter for brake torque reduction in a motor vehicle having a brake holding assist function. The determination including detecting a motion parameter of the motor vehicle and analyzing the detected motion parameter to determine a correction value for a brake torque reduction parameter. Adjusting the brake torque reduction parameter using the correction value determines an optimized brake torque reduction parameter. The optimized brake torque reduction parameter is used as a brake torque reduction parameter of the brake torque reduction.
Adaptive brake assist system for a cyclist on a bicycle by an haptic feedback
Adaptive brake assist system a cyclist on a bicycle by an aptic feedback, includes a first sensor (for measuring the angular speed (ω.sub.1) of a first wheel of the bicycle, adapted to generate a signal representative of the angular speed of the first wheel; an actuator mountable to a portion of the bicycle, adapted to generate vibrations; a control module configured to generate a command signal of the actuator, so that the actuator vibrates at a vibration frequency (f), based on at least the signal representative of the angular speed of the first wheel (ω.sub.1) and based on one or more reference magnitudes (η.sub.ref); and a learning module configured to determine, updating and delivering to the control module the one or more reference magnitudes (η.sub.ref) based on at least the signal representative of the angular speed (ω.sub.1) of the first wheel.
Selective braking of four wheel steering vehicle
A four wheel steering vehicle (1), in which front wheels (2f) and rear wheels (2r) can be steered in response to a steering input from a steering wheel (11), includes a rear wheel steering control unit (50) that variably controls a rear wheel steering device such that the rear wheels are steered in a prescribed relation to a steered angle of the front wheels. When the steering input is determined while the front wheel brake and the rear wheel brake are engaged, the rear wheel steering control unit disengages the rear wheel brake and steers the rear wheels. When the fore and aft inclination angle detected by an inclination sensor (40) provided on the vehicle is greater than a threshold value, the rear wheel steering control unit prohibits a steering of the rear wheels and keeps the rear wheel brake engaged even if the steering input is determined.
Multi-pressure valve controller and method for a vehicle braking system
A vehicle braking system includes a brake associated with a respective wheel of the vehicle, a multi-pressure valve associated with the brake, and a controller electrically communicating with the multi-pressure valve. The multi-pressure valve receives fluid at a first pressure at a supply port and is capable of delivering the fluid at a delivery port at a plurality of pressure profiles. A control signal is transmitted to the multi-pressure valve. The multi-pressure valve delivers the pressurized fluid to the brake, via the delivery port, at one of the plurality of delivery pressure profiles based on the control signal.
Method of and apparatus for controlling the braking of a tractor trailer combination
A method of controlling the braking of a tractor-trailer combination, in which the tractor includes a drive train having an engine and at least one ground-engaging member driveably connected thereto, at least one ground-engaging member of the tractor includes at least one tractor brake, and at least one ground-engaging member of the trailer includes at least one trailer brake, the operation of which depends at least in part on the operative condition of the at least one tractor brake, includes the steps of, on the initiation of operation of the at least one tractor brake and the at least one trailer brake to brake the tractor-trailer combination, commencing operation of a timer that times the duration of operation of the at least one tractor brake and/or the at least one trailer brake. On a parameter related to the duration of braking effort timed by the timer reaching or exceeding a threshold value, the method then includes adjusting the braking effort applied by the at least one trailer brake in order to achieve or maintain a chosen braking performance of the tractor-trailer combination.
