Method for determining the dominant eye

A method is provided for determining the dominant eye of a person using equipment designed to acquire at least one image of the face of the person, then process the image, and finally return information enabling the person to know which eye is the dominant eye thereof. The method uses a sighting device that is identifiable and locatable in relation to the equipment, with the viewing being carried out through a window with both eyes open. The size of the window is such that it does not allow the person to see said target with both eyes at the same time. The equipment acquires at least one image for viewing the position of both eyes of the person, processing the image by performing calculations while taking into account the position of a central point located between both eyes, the position of the target and the position of the window.

Systems and methods for automated widefield optical coherence tomography angiography

Disclosed are systems and methods for generating wide-field optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) images. In embodiments, multiple OCTA scans of a sample are automatically acquired at overlapping locations. The systems and methods include functionality to adaptively control the scanning procedure such that eye blink and eye motion events are detected in real time and accounted for during 3D scan acquisition. Also disclosed are methods for detecting and correcting motion-related artifacts in OCTA datasets which allow for the longer scan times over larger fields of view required for wide-field imaging. These methods may include division of en face angiogram images into a set of motion-free parallel strips, and application of gross and fine registration methods to align overlapping strips into a motion-corrected composite image. A series of overlapping motion-corrected composite images may be combined into a larger montage to enable wide-field OCTA imaging using multiple OCTA scans.

Ophthalmoscope using natural pupil dilation

An ophthalmic device having a single or dual compartment configuration selectively emits infrared and visible light beams onto one or a pair of target eyes. The device performs eye fundus imaging and aids in the detection of ailments as indicated by anomalies in the pupillary reflex.

Apparatus and method for testing night vision

A method and an apparatus for testing night vision are disclosed. At least one visual mark is presented to a test person having an open pupil from a distance of several meters. The visual mark is configured as a light point, and a visual impression of the test person is determined by means of the visual mark. The apparatus comprises means for opening a pupil of a test person, in particular a darkened room. An examination position for the test person and a presentation apparatus for visual marks arranged at a distance of several meters from the examination position are also provided. The presentation apparatus comprises at least one point-shaped light source. A light beam thereof is directed towards the examination position. Means are provided for determining a visual impression of the test person with the help of the visual marks.

Device for imaging an eye

A device is for imaging an eye and is wearable on the object to be examined or otherwise able to be placed to the front of an eye or eyes. When the device is switched on, it automatically performs the imaging such that all images are useful. The device comprises a camera arrangement with optics and a camera sensor, and an illumination arrangement. The device comprises a control arrangement that switches the camera arrangement to take automatically one or more images of the eye, when the device is in front of the eye. The device comprises an image analyzing arrangement or a connection to an image analyzing arrangement that is provided for detecting a reflection in the image taken by the camera arrangement or in the image area of the camera arrangement and for transmitting the information about the detected reflection to the control arrangement which is provided thereby to repeat or decline imaging. When repeating the imaging the control arrangement alters the parameters of imaging.

Systems and methods for alignment of the eye for ocular imaging

An ocular alignment system for aligning a subject's eye with an optical axis of an ocular imaging device comprising one or more guide light and one or more baffle configured to mask the one or more guide light from view of the subject such that the one or more guide light is only visible to the subject when the eye of the subject is aligned with the optical axis of an ocular imaging system.

METHOD OF USING AUTONOMIC NERVE FLUCTUATIONS AND SYSTEM USING THE SAME

A method comprising: (a) obtaining information about a period of a fluctuation cycle in an autonomic nerve of a user; and (b) repeating, in a same period as the period of the fluctuation cycle in the autonomic nerve, a process that includes inducing a point of gaze of the user to move in a direction away from the user and inducing the point of gaze of the user to move in a direction to approach the user, according to the obtained information. The period of the fluctuation cycle in the autonomic nerve is a period of a fluctuation cycle in a diameter of a pupil of the user, a period of a fluctuation cycle in a heart beat of the user, or a period calculated from the period of the fluctuation cycle in the diameter of the pupil and the period of the fluctuation cycle in the heart beat.

A method includes: (a) obtaining information about a period of a fluctuation cycle in an autonomic nerve of a user at rest; (b) inducing the user to breaths in synchronization with the period of the fluctuation cycle in the autonomic nerve according to the obtained information; and (c) synchronizing a fluctuation in a diameter of a pupil of the user with the period of the fluctuation cycle in the autonomic nerve at the same time of (b) according to the obtained information. The period of the fluctuation cycle in the autonomic nerve is a period of a fluctuation cycle in the diameter of the pupil, a period of a fluctuation cycle in a heart beats of the user, or a period calculated from the period of the fluctuation cycle in the diameter of the pupil and the period of the fluctuation cycle in the heart beats.

Vestibular-Ocular Reflex Test and Training System
20170258397 · 2017-09-14 ·

A system and method for testing a subject for cognitive or oculomotor impairment includes presenting the subject with a display of an object, while presenting the display to the subject, and the subject's head moves horizontally or vertically within a predefined range of movement rates, measuring the subject's right eye positions and/or the subject's left eye positions. The system generates a metric by statistical analysis of the measurements of subject's right eye positions or the subject's left eye positions, and generates a report based on the metric. In some embodiments, the system is configured to train the subject to improve their performance, and thereby remediate or reduce cognitive and oculomotor impairment.
