The electric brake system includes a pedal operator connected to a brake pedal and configured to transmit a braking intention to an electronic control unit; a reservoir configured to store a working fluid; a pressure supplier provided with a driver providing a power, and configured to generate a hydraulic pressure of a plurality of wheel brakes; and a braking pressure regulator configured to regulate a hydraulic pressure, which is generated by the pressure supplier and transmitted to the wheel brake, wherein the braking pressure regulator includes a first hydraulic circuit hydraulically connected to two wheel brakes and a second hydraulic circuit hydraulically connected to the other two wheel brakes, wherein the first hydraulic circuit and the second hydraulic circuit are provided with a plurality of inlet lines connecting the pressure supplier to each of the wheel brake, and a plurality of outlet lines connecting each of the wheel brake to the reservoir or connecting each of the wheel brake to the pedal operator, wherein the first hydraulic circuit and the second hydraulic circuit are hydraulically separated from each other to regulate a hydraulic pressure, which is transmitted to the wheel brake by the other hydraulic circuit when any one hydraulic circuit operates abnormally.

A system and method for managing braking in a degraded adhesion condition for a vehicle system including at least one vehicle comprising setting a target deceleration value, applying a non-degraded braking force via a braking system of the vehicle system, detecting a presence of a degraded adhesion condition between the vehicle system and a route along which the vehicle system moves. Responsive to the degraded adhesion condition not being detected, maintaining the application of the non-degraded braking force, or responsive to the degraded adhesion condition being detected, applying a degraded braking force, activating recovery means to control deceleration of the vehicle system, determining a compensation deceleration value, and applying at least one of the braking system or recovery means to control the deceleration of the vehicle system.

A brake assist controller determines that an operating condition for a brake assist control is satisfied if time to collision (TTC) calculated by dividing an inter-vehicle gap by a relative speed is equal to or smaller than a reference time to collision (reference TTC), and if the TTC is larger than the reference TTC, the brake assist controller determines that the operating condition for the brake assist control is satisfied if a time headway calculated by dividing the inter-vehicle gap by a vehicle speed of an own vehicle is equal to or smaller than a reference time headway.

VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE

A brake assist controller determines that an operating condition for a brake assist control is satisfied if time to collision (TTC) calculated by dividing an inter-vehicle gap by a relative speed is equal to or smaller than a reference time to collision (reference TTC), and if the TTC is larger than the reference TTC, the brake assist controller determines that the operating condition for the brake assist control is satisfied if a time headway calculated by dividing the inter-vehicle gap by a vehicle speed of an own vehicle is equal to or smaller than a reference time headway.
