A motion conversion mechanism of a brake device includes a rotation member and a linear motion member that linearly moves accompanying the rotation of the rotation member. The rotation member is rotationally driven through a third gear. A male screw and a female screw mesh with each other on the side opposite to the brake shoe of the third gear, where one end of an actuating member receives a force for actuating the brake shoe from the linear motion member, and the other end actuates the brake shoe. The guide member that guides the actuating member is made of a material different from that of the rotation member, and slidably guides the actuating member in the axial direction.

Brake actuator

A brake actuator includes: a housing; an electric motor with a hollow motor shaft rotating; a rotating shaft disposed inside the motor shaft to be coaxial therewith; a piston with a rear end disposed inside the motor shaft and a front end engaged with the friction member; a speed reduction mechanism decelerating rotation transmitted from the motor shaft and transmitting the rotation to the rotating shaft; and a motion conversion mechanism converting a rotating motion of the rotating shaft into an advancing/retracting motion of the piston. The motor shaft is rotatably supported by the housing at an outer peripheral surface thereof, and the rotating shaft is rotatably supported by an inner peripheral surface of the motor shaft via rollers at an outer peripheral surface thereof as well as by the housing via a thrust bearing at a rear end of the rotating shaft.

ELECTROMECHANICAL BRAKE PRESSURE GENERATOR FOR A HYDRAULIC BRAKING SYSTEM

An electromechanical brake pressure generator for a hydraulic braking system of a vehicle. The electromechanical brake pressure generator encompasses a screw drive assemblage for converting an input-drive-side rotational motion into a translational motion for brake pressure generation. The screw drive assemblage encompasses a spindle that is rotatable via an electric motor, a spindle nut that interacts with a thread of the spindle so that the spindle nut is axially displaceable with a rotation of the spindle, and a housing that at least partly surrounds the spindle and the spindle nut. The screw drive assemblage additionally encompasses a drive wheel, which is disposed nonrotatably on the spindle and by way of which the spindle is connected to the electric motor. The spindle and the drive wheel are mounted, via a common bearing, rotatably with respect to the stationary housing. The bearing is radially surrounded at least partly by the drive wheel.

A rear electric brake ECU includes a delay element. More specifically, the delay element is disposed between an arithmetic element of the rear electric brake ECU and a first switching element (an FET) for driving a solenoid of a parking mechanism. The delay element delays a signal for driving this first switching element. Further, the rear electric brake ECU includes a diagnosis device for diagnosing the actuation state of the arithmetic element. The diagnosis device is set so as to be able to shut off power supply to the solenoid regardless of the state of a signal (a driving signal) of the solenoid if diagnosing that the actuation state of the arithmetic element is abnormal.
