A redundancy module for a pneumatic braking system of a vehicle, in particular a commercial vehicle, with spring brakes on at least one axle, includes: a parking brake pressure port for receiving a parking brake pressure; a spring brake port for providing a spring brake pressure; a redundancy pressure port for receiving a redundancy pressure; and a piston assembly, with a reverse piston having a parking brake pressure control surface, a spring brake control surface, and a redundancy pressure control surface. The parking brake pressure acting on the parking brake pressure control surface causes a control of the spring brake pressure in a same direction. The redundancy pressure acting on the redundancy pressure control surface causes an inverse control of the spring brake pressure.

Car control device wake up for electrically controlled pneumatic train braking systems
11267445 · 2022-03-08 · ·

A system for waking up a dormant car control device of rail car braking system that provides a sufficient wake up voltage in response to pressurization of the brake pipe of the transit car. A supercapacitor is used to output a predetermined voltage when a pressure switch responsive to a source of brake pipe pressure moves to a closed position in response to a charging of the brake system. A first circuit boosts the predetermined voltage of the supercapacitor and energized the contacts of a relay that can selectively provide the boosted voltage to an input of a car control device. A second circuit controls the relay to select when boosted voltage should be provided to the input of a car control device. A third circuit selectively provides power to the first and second circuits based on whether the car control device should receive the boosted voltage.

A brake system for motor vehicles may include an actuation device (e.g., brake pedal), a first piston-cylinder unit having at least one piston that separates two working chambers, a control device and a pressure supply unit driven by an electric motor and having a double-stroke piston delimiting working chambers. At least one brake circuit may have associated therewith at least one wheel brake, and each wheel brake may be connected to an associated hydraulic connecting line via a controllable switching valve. An outlet valve may be assigned to a single wheel brake or to a single wheel brake of each brake circuit in a hydraulic connection between the wheel brake and a pressure medium storage container.

A detection method for detecting heading based on sensor data of a radar sensor is provided. The radar sensor provides sensor data in form of a range to range rate spectrum. Two clusters of spectrum cells or recognition points are determined. The spectrum cells or recognition points of a first cluster and a second cluster have an intensity value. The spectrum cells or recognition points of the first cluster are arranged on a first linear stretch. The spectrum cells or recognition points of the second cluster are arranged on a second linear stretch. A first slope gradient is determined for the spectrum cells or recognition points in the first cluster. A second slope gradient is determined for the spectrum cells or recognition points in the second cluster.
