ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED OPERATING BRAKE SYSTEM HAVING BACKUP CONTROL PRESSURE GENERATED ON A BASIS OF AN ADDITIONAL COMPRESSED AIR CONSUMER CIRCUIT
An electronically controlled pneumatic operating brake system, having a backup control pressure for a pneumatic fall back level, wherein the backup control pressure is generated from a compressed air supply which is independent from two compressed air supplies for a front axle circuit and a rear axle circuit. This assures additional pneumatic redundancy and facilitates omitting a pneumatic channel in a foot brake module.
SELF-CONTAINED INTELLIGENT BRAKING SUBSYSTEM
A control system includes one or more processing circuits comprising one or more memory devices coupled to one or more processors. The one or more memory devices are configured to store instructions thereon that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to acquire speed data regarding current speeds of tractive elements of the vehicle from tractive element speed sensors of the vehicle, determine speed references for the tractive elements to perform autonomous driving operations where the speed references indicate speeds at which each of the tractive elements should rotate to accommodate the autonomous driving operations, and control at least one of a driveline or a brake system of the vehicle to selectively alter the current speeds of the tractive elements of the vehicle based on the current speeds and the speed references to accommodate the autonomous driving operations.
BRAKE SYSTEM WITH FAULT-TOLERANT FEATURES
A brake system includes a reservoir and a motor-driven master cylinder operable during a backup braking mode by actuation of an electric motor of the master cylinder to generate brake actuating pressure for hydraulically actuating the pair of front wheel brakes and the pair of rear wheel brakes. A power transmission unit is configured for selectively providing pressurized hydraulic fluid to a PTU output for actuating the pair of front wheel brakes and the pair of rear wheel brakes in a normal non-failure braking mode. First and second two-position three-way valves are each hydraulically connected with the master cylinder, the power transmission unit, and a selected pair of the front and rear wheel brakes. Each of the first and second three-way valves selectively controls hydraulic fluid flow from a chosen one of the master cylinder and the power transmission unit to the selected pair of front and rear wheel brakes.
System and method for emergency brake control
Disclosed are systems and methods for regulating application of an emergency brake configured to minimize jerk for riders' comfort while assuring safe application of the emergency brake. An emergency brake optimization module may be provided and positioned in fluid communication with a standard hydraulic brake system to regulate the application of the emergency brake through (i) providing an initial inflow of hydraulic fluid through a dead time caliper fill circuit to the brake supply line during a dead time period of fluid supply through the emergency brake valve to reduce dead time in emergency brake application, (ii) providing an oversized choke, or optionally no choke, in the emergency brake circuit with jerk being controlled through consumption of excess hydraulic fluid by a secondary volume consumption circuit, and (iii) providing both a dead time caliper fill circuit and a secondary volume consumption circuit to more precisely control reduction in dead time and minimization of jerk during application of the emergency brake.
BRAKE APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE
According to at least one embodiment, the present disclosure provides a brake system for a vehicle which includes a 3-way solenoid valve to reduce the number of solenoid valves mounted to the brake system.
Solenoid valve
The present disclosure relates to a solenoid valve. The solenoid valve includes an armature provided inside the sleeve, a plunger configured to ascend and descend by the operation of the armature, an elastic member configured to press the plunger toward the armature, a magnet core having a through hole in which the plunger and the elastic member are provided and forming an inner space in a longitudinal direction, a valve seat provided in the inner space and on which an orifice penetrating in an axial direction is formed to be opened and closed by the plunger, and a plurality of flow resistance members each including a ring body interposed between the valve seat and the magnet core to generate a flow resistance of a braking fluid, and a slot formed at one side of the ring body to penetrate through the ring body so that the braking fluid passes therethrough.
Valve arrangement and brake system
The invention relates to a valve arrangement (10) comprising valves and coil arrangements (20), each coil arrangement (20) having two coils (110, 210) which are electrically connected to separate control units (100, 200). Each valve can be independently actuated by either the first coil (110) or the second coil (210) of the coil arrangement (20) associated therewith. The invention further relates to a brake system (400, 500) having such a valve arrangement (10).
Electronically controlled pneumatic brake system comprising an electronically controlled trailer control module
An electronically controlled pneumatic brake system (2) for a vehicle 100, with a supply coupling head (24), a control coupling head (26), and an electronically controlled trailer control module (28) includes a first supply port (28.1), a trailer supply connection (28.2) for providing a trailer supply pressure (pT) to the supply coupling head (24), a trailer control connection (28.3) for providing a trailer control pressure (pB) to the control coupling head (26), an electro-pneumatic trailer control valve arrangement (40) for providing the trailer control pressure (pB), and a tractor protection valve electronic control unit (42). The electro-pneumatic trailer control valve arrangement (40) is configured to only supply a trailer control pressure (pB) to the trailer control connection (28.3) when compressed air is supplied to the trailer supply connection (28.2).
