BYPASS VALVE IN AN APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING VACUUM

Venturi devices are disclosed that have a housing defining a conduit having a Venturi gap. Downstream of and bypassing the Venturi gap is a bypass check valve that defines an internal cavity having a first seat, a second seat, an inlet port, at least two outlet ports, and a seal member seated therein that is translatable between a closed position against the first seat and an open position against the second seat. The two outlet ports of the bypass check valve enter the conduit at opposing positions disposed a distance from a top of the conduit, which is located at a midsagittal plane of the housing. Further, a transition from a tapering section downstream of the Venturi gap and upstream of each of the two outlet ports to a discharge section downstream of the two outlet ports forms a gradually, continuously tapering interior surface of the conduit.

Pressure Variation Damper for a Hydraulic Vehicle Brake System, and Corresponding Vehicle Brake System

A pressure variation damper for a slip-regulated, hydraulic vehicle brake system includes a damper housing and a tubular damper element. The damper element is disposed in the damper housing and configured for elastic deformation. The damper element is subjected on an inside and/or on an outside to a fluid. Possible pressure variations of the fluid are to be damped. The damper element comprises a corrugation on the outside and a corrugation on the inside configured to reduce a chance in a wall thickness of the damper element owing to the corrugation on the outside.

Automatic air tank purge system

The present invention provides a system that automatically purges contaminants from an air pressure tank when the emergency brakes of a vehicle are set. In one preferred embodiment, the system comprises a valve comprising an input port, an exhaust port, and a control port. The input port is in fluid connection with a drain on the pressurized air tank, and the control port is in fluid connection with an emergency brake line of the vehicle. When the emergency brakes are engaged, the valve is open such that the input port and the exhaust port are in fluid connection operable for air and contaminants from the pressurized air tank to be expelled from the pressurized air tank through the exhaust port. When the emergency brakes are not engaged, the valve is closed such that the input port and exhaust port are not in fluid connection.

A normally closed port valve seals a hydraulic hose connection port of a hydraulic bicycle component. Connection of an end of a hydraulic hose assembly to the port opens the valve, placing the assembly's hydraulic fluid chamber in fluid communication with the interior of the hose assembly. A hydraulic cylinder of the assembly is in fluid communication with the chamber. A spring may be used to bias the valve to a closed condition and simultaneously to bias a brake actuating piston to a non-actuated position.
