Vehicle brake system
A vehicle brake system including a hydraulic brake device having two systems and configured to generate a braking force, wherein, in a failure condition of one of the two systems, one of the following two operation modes of the hydraulic brake device is selectively established: (a) a two-wheel mode in which master shut-off valves shut respective master fluid passages and a braking force that depends on a pressure of a working fluid supplied from a master cylinder is generated for each of right and left wheels; and (b) a one-wheel mode in which one of the master shut-off valves corresponding to the other of the two systems shuts off the corresponding master fluid passage and a braking force that depends on the working fluid supplied by a controlled-pressure supply device is generated for only one of the right and left wheels that corresponds to the other of the two systems.

DRIVER STEER RECOMMENDATION UPON LOSS OF ONE BRAKE CIRCUIT OF A DIAGONAL SPILT LAYOUT
A method and system corrects steering of a vehicle upon a brake system malfunction. The brake system has a diagonal split layout. An electronic brake system (EBS) controls operation of the master cylinder. An electronic power steering system (EPS) includes sensors to measure motion and torque of a steering column of the vehicle and includes a motor to provide torque to the steering column. During driver braking when one of the brake circuits has failed, the system calculates a yaw torque value introduced by a driver braking with just one functioning brake circuit. Based on a steer wheel angle and a steer wheel torque obtained from the sensors of the EPS and on the yaw torque value, a steer wheel torque request defining a steer wheel torque/angle needed to counter the yaw torque value is calculated and sent the EPS which operates the motor to compensate for the steering deviation.
Parking Brake Apparatus For A Vehicle
A parking brake apparatus is provided for a vehicle having components of a parking brake system and devices for providing a plurality of output signals indicative of a plurality of vehicle factors. The parking brake apparatus comprises an electronic controller that monitors the output signals indicative of a plurality of vehicle factors, monitors for a pre-startup sequence of the plurality of vehicle factors having been met, monitors for a driver request to unpark the vehicle, monitors for a pre-release sequence of the plurality of vehicle factors having been met, and applies one or more control signals to components of the parking brake system to release parking brakes based upon a valid pre-startup sequence of the plurality of vehicle factors having been met, a driver request to unpark the vehicle, and at least one valid pre-release sequence of the plurality of vehicle factors having been met.
