Brake load alleviation functions
A system, method, and apparatus for brake load alleviation amongst at least one first brake and at least one second brake is disclosed. The method involves sensing an amount of brake pedal application in response to engagement of at least brake pedal. The method further involves determining whether the amount of brake pedal application is greater than a brake pedal application threshold value. Also, the method involves generating a brake application profile, when it is determined that the amount of brake pedal application is greater than the brake pedal application threshold value. The brake application profile indicates that actuation of at least one first brake is delayed by a first time delay, and that actuation of at least one second brake is delayed by a second time delay. Further, the method involves actuating at least one first brake and at least one second brake according to the brake application profile.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SUPPORTING COLLISION AVOIDANCE OF VEHICLE
A vehicle collision avoidance support apparatus includes a state determination unit configured to determine whether or not there is a state where a moving object proceeding in a direction intersecting with a traveling direction of a vehicle may exist; a first sensor configured to detect an object in front of the vehicle; and an avoidance operation control unit configured to cause the vehicle to perform a predetermined avoidance operation for avoiding a collision according to a detection result of the first sensor within a determination region in front of the vehicle. The avoidance operation control unit uses a region that is wider in a direction perpendicular and horizontal to the travelling direction as the determination region when it is determined that there is a state where the moving object may exist in comparison with when it is determined that there is no state where the moving object may exist.
Brake Apparatus
An object of the present invention is to provide a brake apparatus capable of acquiring a desired brake hydraulic pressure when an opening failure has occurred in a shut-off valve. The brake apparatus includes a first pump configured to supply brake fluid to a hydraulic circuit connecting a master cylinder and a wheel cylinder to each other, a first shut-off valve provided between a discharge portion of the first pump in the hydraulic circuit and the master cylinder, and a second shut-off valve provided between the first shut-off valve and the master cylinder.
Vehicle condition detection and warning system
Described herein is a vehicle system configured to identify and mitigate inappropriate driving behavior. In some embodiments, the vehicle system may receive input information from one or more input sensors. The vehicle system may identify driving behaviors related to a vehicle from the received input. The vehicle system may determine whether the driving behaviors are inappropriate in light of one or more conditions affecting the vehicle. Upon identifying inappropriate behavior, the vehicle system may generate a set of corrective actions capable of being executed to mitigate the inappropriate driving behavior.
Brake booster device for a braking system of a vehicle, and method for manufacturing a brake booster device for a braking system of a vehicle
A brake booster device for a braking system of a vehicle includes: a booster body to which a brake-boosting force is exertable by an actuator device; a first piston rod component to which the brake-boosting force is at least partially transmittable via a first contact with the booster body, the first piston rod component contacting the booster body at a first contact surface such that the first piston rod component is at least partially adjustable; and a second piston rod component to which the brake-boosting force is at least partially transmittable via a second contact with the booster body, the second piston rod component contacting the booster body at a second contact surface such that the second piston rod component is adjustable together with the first piston rod component.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A VEHICLE
A system includes a drive system having one or more traction motors coupled in driving relationship to a plurality of wheels of a vehicle system. The traction motors are configured to provide both motive power for the vehicle system in a propel mode of operation and retarding effort to brake the vehicle system in a braking mode of operation. The system further includes a parking brake for maintaining a static position of the vehicle system when in an engaged state, and a controller configured to detect when the parking brake is in the engaged state. The controller is further configured to control at least one of the one or more traction motors to provide a braking effort to resist movement of the vehicle system when the parking brake is in the engaged state.
