Trailer Brake Control System
Systems and methods are provided for controlling operation of a trailer brake system associated with an agricultural vehicle-trailer combination, including: determining a trailer brake temperature; comparing the determined trailer brake temperature with one or more temperature thresholds to determine a temperature level condition for the trailer brake; and controlling the trailer brake system in dependence on the determined temperature level condition.
Method for Controlling a Braking Torque of a Vehicle During an at Least Partly Automated Traversal of an Incline And/or a Decline, Computing Device, and Assistance System for a Vehicle
Systems, methods, and apparatuses are provided for controlling a braking torque of a vehicle while travelling in an at least semiautomated manner. Standstill data is received, while the vehicle is traveling in the at least semiautomated manner on an incline and/or a decline, when a temporary standstill of the vehicle is requested by the assistance system. Speed values are continuously received that describe a speed of the vehicle while the vehicle is decelerating prior to the temporary standstill. Slope data is continuously determined that describes an angle of the incline or decline. An amended speed value is continuously computed that depends on the speed value and the slope data. An electronic control signal is output to control the braking torque to bring the vehicle to the temporary standstill when the amended speed value decreases below a predetermined threshold value and the standstill data are received.
Control system and method for improving vehicle turning performance
A control system for a motor vehicle that operates to receive a signal indicative of a steering angle of a vehicle and cause application of negative torque to one or more wheels of a vehicle to slow a wheel. The system is configured to perform a turn-assist operation in which the system causes application of negative torque to at least a first wheel of a vehicle being an inside trailing wheel when a steering angle exceeds a predetermined steering angle thereby to promote turning of a vehicle. The amount of negative torque is arranged to increase with increasing steering angle beyond the predetermined steering angle.
Driving assistance device for vehicle
This brake ECU executes vehicle downhill control for adjusting the braking force to be applied to a vehicle by actuating a brake actuator such that the vehicle body speed does not exceed a target speed. Also, in cases where the accelerator pedal is being operated in a state where the vehicle downhill control is being executed, the brake ECU changes the target speed such that, the longer the operation duration which is the duration for which the accelerator is operated, the higher the target speed.
System and method for controlling the speed of a vehicle using vehicle configuration
A method for use with a speed control system of a vehicle is provided. The method comprises receiving readings from one or more vehicle sensors to determine the nature of the terrain over which the vehicle is traveling. The method further comprises gathering information relating to one or more parameters of the vehicle that correspond to the configuration of the vehicle. The method still further comprises determining, based on the nature of the terrain and the gathered information, whether the vehicle is appropriately configured to travel over the terrain. A system comprising an electronic control unit configured to perform the method is also provided.
VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD
A vehicle control system having a plurality of speed control systems, each operable to cause the vehicle to operate in accordance with a respective target speed. The system is operable wherein one of the plurality of speed control systems may be selected to control vehicle speed at a given moment in time, wherein when responsibility for speed control is transferred from a first one of the plurality of speed control systems to a second one of the speed control systems, the second one of the speed control systems is operable to set a value of target speed thereof to a value corresponding to that of the target speed of the first.
Adaptive braking and steering adjustment on a slope
A method of adaptively changing brake force distribution in a vehicle may include detecting vehicle parameters during operation of the vehicle, based on the detected vehicle parameters, determining downhill travel of the vehicle while braking and steering inputs are applied to the vehicle as an enabling condition, and responsive to detection of a trigger comprising detection of an understeer condition while the enabling condition is satisfied, executing a brake force distribution modification defining a change in distribution of brake forces between a front axle and a rear axle of the vehicle.
A METHOD AND A SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE SPEED
A device and a method for controlling vehicle speed in a vehicle equipped with cruise control when the vehicle is travelling downhill. The method involves driving a vehicle downhill with the cruise control set to a first brake set speed value; detecting a current vehicle speed; applying a brake torque using at least one auxiliary brake to maintain the first brake set speed, which brake torque is dependent on a currently engaged gear; detecting a manual request for a downshift from a currently engaged gear to a lower gear, in order to decrease vehicle speed; and determining if a downshift is permissible at the current vehicle speed. If a control unit determines that a downshift is not permissible, then the control unit is automatically arranged to apply a brake torque using at least a vehicle service brake to retard the vehicle speed; to retard the vehicle from a current, first vehicle speed to a lower, second vehicle speed at which a downshift to a lower gear is permissible; and to perform a downshift to a lower gear when the second vehicle speed is reached. The cruise control brake set speed is set to a second brake set speed that is lower than the first cruise control brake set speed value; and a brake torque using at least the auxiliary brake is applied if a detected current vehicle speed exceeds the second brake set speed.
A METHOD AND A SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE SPEED
A device and a method for controlling vehicle speed in a vehicle equipped with brake cruise control when the vehicle is travelling downhill are provided. The method involves driving a vehicle downhill with the brake set speed set to a first brake set speed; detecting a current vehicle speed; automatically applying a brake torque using at least an auxiliary brake to maintain the first brake set speed; and detecting a manual application of a vehicle service brake, in order to decrease vehicle speed. If a control unit detects that the driver is applying the service brake, then the control unit is automatically arranged to set the brake set speed to a second brake set speed that is lower than the first brake set speed; and to apply a brake torque using at least the auxiliary brake if a detected current vehicle speed exceeds the second brake set speed.
ADAPTIVE REGENERATION SYSTEMS FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES
Systems and methods are disclosed for adaptive regeneration systems for electric vehicles. In one embodiment, an example method may include determining, by an adaptive regeneration system, that an electric vehicle is decelerating, determining an output voltage of a power source at the electric vehicle, determining that a voltage potential of a battery system at the electric vehicle is greater than the output voltage, and causing the voltage potential of the battery system to be modified to a value equal to or less than the output voltage.
