Method to adjust an activating braking pressure threshold value

A method is provided to adjust an activating braking pressure threshold value of an automatic vehicle brake holding system of a vehicle. If a braking pressure that is generated through actuation of a vehicle brake of the vehicle exceeds an activating braking pressure threshold value while the vehicle is at a standstill, a brake holding state of the vehicle brake holding system is activated and a procedure for ascertaining time is started. A vehicle movement is ascertained during an activated brake holding state within a monitoring procedure period of time since starting the procedure to ascertain time. If a movement occurs within the monitoring procedure period of time, a value of a number of ascertained movements is increased. If this value exceeds a movement threshold value, the activating braking pressure threshold value is increased and the value of the number of ascertained movements is reduced.

A vehicle includes a controller and an operating unit. The controller controls an automatic vehicle hold (AVH) system maintaining the brake of the vehicle even after an operation of the brake pedal is canceled, and an idling stop system (ISS) stopping idling of an internal combustion engine. The operating unit switches the AVH and ISS between an enabled state and a disabled state in response to an occupant's operation. When the vehicle comes to a stop, the controller activates the AVH in a case where the operation of the brake pedal satisfies a first operation condition, and activates the ISS in a case where the operation of the brake pedal satisfies a second operation condition. The controller changes at least one of the first operation condition or the second operation condition when the AVH and the ISS are both switched to the enabled state by the operating unit.

Method for braking a vehicle on a slope

A method for braking a vehicle to a stop on a sloping section of a roadway wherein a slope inclination of the roadway section, a vehicle speed, an acceleration, and a vehicle brake operation status of the vehicle are continuously ascertained. The slope inclination of the roadway section and the vehicle brake operation status are compared with predetermined threshold values. The method includes activating a braking torque, continuously determined based on the slope inclination, the driving speed, and the acceleration when the instantaneous slope inclination of the roadway section reaches or exceeds the predetermined threshold value for a sloping section and the vehicle brake operation status lies within a predetermined range or value. The braking torque being independent of the vehicle brake operation status.

A method for operating an at least semi-automated mobile platform which includes wheels, a braking system, and an acceleration sensor that generates acceleration values. The braking system, using a holding force, cooperates with the wheels in such a way that the platform is selectively fixed in a position. Each wheel includes a rotation angle sensor that generates a signal pulse based on a rotational position of the wheel. The method includes: reducing an initial holding force of the wheels, corresponding to an initial value of a control gradient; controlling the control gradient based on the acceleration values when the rotation angle sensor of a wheel has generated a first signal pulse; increasing the holding force of at least one of the wheels corresponding to a fixation gradient when the rotation angle sensor of a set of further wheels of the wheels has generated a signal pulse, to fix the platform.

Control device display indicators for one-pedal function and automatic brake hold function

A control device configured to control a vehicle is provided. The device comprises: a traveling control unit capable of executing stop hold control in an automatic brake hold function and a one-pedal function; and an output control unit capable of displaying a first indicator indicating that the one-pedal function is enabled and a second indicator indicating that the automatic brake hold function is enabled. The traveling control unit exclusively executes the automatic brake hold function and the one-pedal function. The output control unit executes at least one of ending display of the second indicator and displaying the first indicator when the one-pedal function is enabled instead of the automatic brake hold function and/or ending display of the first indicator and displaying the second indicator when the automatic brake hold function is enabled instead of the one-pedal function.

A lock module assembly controls hill hold, park, and neutral states of a vehicle. The lock module assembly does all of this by controlling rotation of a wheel hub (or a shaft that rotates the wheel hub) of the vehicle. The lock module assembly includes a pocket plate fixedly secured to a rotating shaft. The pocket plate includes a locking element housed therein. A notch plate has first and second sets of notches with the first set complementing the pocket plate secured to the rotating shaft. A second set of notches complements a static pocket plate that houses at least clockwise actuator and at least one counterclockwise actuator. The actuators are used to control hill holds and park, whereas the locking element of the pocket plate disengages the wheel hub from the rotating shaft (neutral).

The brake control unit is configured to: receive sensor data from the sensor system, and receive a brake signal from the tow vehicle indicative of a driver pressing a brake pedal of the tow vehicle. The brake control unit is also configured to: determine, for each brake, a hydraulic pressure based on the sensor data and the brake signal; and apply pressure by way of brake lines to the brake associated with each wheel, based on the hydraulic pressure.

The straddle vehicle includes a mode setter that selectively sets one of at least a normal mode and a first reduced mode that are included in the plurality of modes. An engine controller controls an electronic throttle valve and a fuel injector so that a torque of an internal combustion engine is equal to a target torque. When the torque of the internal combustion engine is less than zero while in the first reduced mode, an engine brake controller corrects the target torque by adding a first additive torque to the target torque. The first additive torque is set so as to be smaller as an amount of operation of an accelerator grip becomes larger so that an opening of the electronic throttle valve increases as the amount of operation of the accelerator grip increases.
