METHOD FOR OPERATING A BRAKE SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for operating a brake system of an at least double-tracked motor vehicle comprises two breakable wheels, which are arranged at opposite ends of an axle, and a rollover protection system which can cause braking of the wheels in order to prevent a rollover situation. Automatic braking of that wheel of the axle which is loaded more greatly when cornering is brought about by way of the rollover protection system. Subsequently, a smaller steering lock angle or a lower lateral acceleration than in the case of the cornering which took place immediately previously, or a straightahead driving phase which immediately follows the cornering is detected. Thereupon, automatic braking of the two wheels on the axle is brought about.
METHOD FOR OPERATING A BRAKE SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
In the case of a method for operating a brake system of an at least double-tracked motor vehicle (10) which comprises 2 breakable wheels (12.sub.L, 12.sub.R), which are arranged at opposite ends of an axle (14.sub.V), and a rollover protection system, which can cause braking of the wheels (12.sub.L, 12.sub.R) in order to prevent a rollover situation, automatic braking of that wheel of the axle (14.sub.V), which is loaded more greatly when cornering is brought about by way of the rollover protection system. Subsequently, a counter-steering movement is detected by way of a predefined steering angle change being exceeded in a predefined time period in the direction counter to the cornering direction, and, thereupon, a brake force is caused to be built up at the opposite wheel, which is loaded less greatly by way of the rollover protection system.
Vehicle control device, vehicle control method, and vehicle control system
An electrically controlled differential gear is disposed between a right front wheel and a left front wheel of a vehicle. The electrically controlled differential gear includes a clutch mechanism that limits a differential operation of the electrically controlled differential gear. A second ECU (control portion) obtains information as to failure associated with actuation of a right front electric brake mechanism. The second ECU obtains a physical amount relating to a required braking force which is applied to the left front wheel and the right front wheel. The second ECU outputs a differential limiting control command for limiting the differential operation of the electrically controlled differential gear to the clutch mechanism (or more specifically, a differential ECU that controls the clutch mechanism) based on the information as to the failure and the physical amount relating to the required braking force.
Stably braking system and method using the same
A stably braking system and a method using the same control wheels on a single axle of a ground vehicle. Firstly, at least one of a wheel deceleration and an actual slip of each of the wheels is calculated. Hydraulic control commands are generated when a braking operation is performed in response to a braking indication signal and it is detected that the wheel deceleration or the actual slip is higher. The hydraulic control commands are configured to control a hydraulic braking system to adjust the wheel speed. When the ground vehicle drives in a straight line or turns with a first pose physical quantity, the hydraulic control command with a low priority is replaced by the hydraulic control command with a high priority and the hydraulic braking system is controlled to adjust the wheel speeds based on the identical hydraulic control commands.
VEHICLE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM CONTROL DEVICE
A wheeled vehicle's antilock brake system (ABS) control device has three kinds of control modes of a braking force oriented mode, a sideways force oriented swinging-motion suppression mode and a sideways force oriented swinging-motion enhancement mode each of which is an ABS control mode being selected by means of an ABS control mode selection unit; and the vehicle ABS control device is so arranged that, in accordance with an ABS control mode selected by the ABS control mode selection unit, target slip rates on each of the vehicle's wheels being set by a target slip-rate setting unit are transferred toward respective braking force orientation or sideways force orientation, thereby the behavior of a wheeled vehicle is stabilized at a time when the wheeled vehicle on which the vehicle ABS control device is mounted makes a turn.
SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESINS AND RELATED FIBER COMPOSITES
The present invention relates to the sector of self-diagnostic composite materials. In particular, the invention presents an agent, which can be cross-linked together with a curing agent in a matrix, e.g. an epoxy resin, and fibres, e.g., carbon fibre, in order to obtain a composite material containing a reporting probe capable of detecting stress, fatigue and microscopic cracks in the material with high spatial resolution and sensitivity.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE, AND MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for operating a motor vehicle which includes a primary braking system and a secondary braking system, each wheel of the motor vehicle being assigned a wheel brake which is actuatable by the braking systems, the secondary braking system being activated during an emergency braking operation in such a way that each of the wheel brakes generates the same brake force. An instantaneous steering angle of the motor vehicle is detected during the emergency braking operation and the secondary braking system is activated as a function of the detected steering angle.
VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS
A vehicle control apparatus has a steering wheel 6, an engine 4 for outputting a driving force of a vehicle 1, a brake apparatus 16 capable of applying different braking forces to left and right wheels, and a PCM 14 including a processor and the like. When executing vehicle yaw control, which controls the brake apparatus 16 to apply to the vehicle 1 a yaw moment in the direction opposite to the yaw rate generated in the vehicle 1, after executing vehicle attitude control for reducing an output torque of the engine 4 based on a turning operation of the steering wheel 6, when the control amount of the vehicle attitude control is large, the PCM 14 increases the control amount of the vehicle yaw control compared to when the control amount of the vehicle attitude control is not large.
Vehicle travel assistance system
A vehicle travel assistance system includes distributing half of target yawing moment to inner wheels and distributing the rest to outer wheels; increasing the amount of increase in the braking force of the inner wheels as the target yawing moment distributed to the inner wheels increases, and increasing the amount of decrease in the braking force of the outer wheels as the target yawing moment distributed to the outer wheels increases; and causing the braking force of the inner wheels to increase according to the amount of increase in the braking force of the inner wheels, and causing the braking force of the outer wheels to decrease according to the amount of decrease in the braking force of the outer wheels.
SENSOR INTEGRATION BASED PEDESTRIAN DETECTION AND PEDESTRIAN COLLISION PREVENTION APPARATUS AND METHOD
An apparatus includes a front detection sensor detecting presence of a pedestrian on a driving lane of the vehicle, gaze information of the pedestrian, and a distance and a relative speed between the pedestrian and the vehicle; a vehicle sensor detecting at least one of a speed, an acceleration, a steering angle, a steering angular velocity, or a pressure of a master cylinder of the vehicle; an electronic control unit activating a function of a pedestrian detection and collision mitigation system based on information detected by the front detection sensor and the vehicle sensor; and a warning unit operated to inform a driver of a collision of the pedestrian with the vehicle by controlling the electronic control unit.
