An apparatus for estimating brake judder of a vehicle and a method thereof includes a communication device that receives sensor data from a plurality of vehicles, and a controller that extracts learning data by pre-processing the sensor data, trains a clustering model to group characteristic data corresponding to the learning data into a preset number of clusters, and estimates brake judder of a target vehicle based on the learned clustering model.

METHOD FOR A SPEED CONTROLLER

A method for a speed controller for a motor vehicle, wherein a speed prescription is set by the driver and automatic adjustment of the speed to the speed prescription is carried out at least by setting an engine torque prescription, wherein at the start of the speed control the engine torque prescription is set to an initial value, wherein the initial value is determined in accordance with at least one parameter.

Erroneous velocity data detection algorithm systems and methods

A method for detecting an erroneous velocity data using a controller in communication with a velocity sensor onboard a vehicle includes receiving a time-series velocity data from the velocity sensor, calculating a time-series acceleration data using the time-series velocity data, calculating a time-series jerk data using the time-series acceleration data, calculating a saturated (numerically bounded) jerk data using the time-series jerk data, calculating an estimated acceleration data using the saturated jerk data, calculating a difference between the estimated acceleration data and the time-series acceleration data, and determining whether the difference is greater than a threshold value. The erroneous velocity data is detected in response to the difference being greater than the threshold value.

BRAKING CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

A vehicle which adopts a control device as a braking control device includes a sensor that acquires a rotation angle of a wheel. The control device includes a first distance calculation unit, a second distance calculation unit, and a braking control unit. The first distance calculation unit sets a braking force corresponding to a braking operation member operation amount as a reference braking force, estimates vehicle longitudinal acceleration based on the reference braking force, and calculates a braking force reference distance estimating a moving distance until the vehicle stops based on the longitudinal acceleration. The second distance calculation unit calculates a wheel reference distance estimating the vehicle moving distance based on a detection signal of the sensor and a wheel diameter. The braking control unit executes feedback control for controlling the vehicle braking force so that a difference between the braking force reference distance and the wheel reference distance decreases.

Method for preventing wheel spin on stopped vehicles

A method of applying a brake force to all four wheels of a motor vehicle to stop the vehicle while torque continues to be applied to its driven wheels; and preventing wheel slippage of the driven wheels by reducing the applied torque when the vehicle is stopped or nearly stopped from moving in a forward direction. In this way, unintentional lateral movement of the vehicle due to creep torque applied to the driven wheels on slippery surfaces can be prevented or corrected.

A prediction unit predicts a limit time at which a limit request value corresponding to a minimum acceleration or torque is reached when a vehicle is decelerated with only a first deceleration control by a drive device based on change over time of a request value indicating a degree of longitudinal direction vehicle acceleration. A mode determination unit selects one of: a first mode in which only the first control is executed, and before the limit time is reached, in addition to the first control, a second deceleration control is started by a braking device; or a second mode in which only the first control is executed, and before the limit time is reached, in addition to the first control, a braking preparation control is started. A calculation unit calculates an operation amount of the drive and braking devices based on the request value in accordance with the determined mode.

Method for controlling braking of vehicle to prevent jerk when parking or stopping vehicle

A method for controlling braking of a vehicle is configured to prevent a jerk which occurs when a driver removes his or her foot from a brake pedal when the vehicle is parked or stopped using a parking gear. The method is carried out such that a constant braking force is transferred to front and rear wheels, and braking pressure is gradually removed by using Electronic Stability Control (ESC) in consideration of a longitudinal direction acceleration in a state where the vehicle is parked or stopped.

Controlling the deceleration of a vehicle
10160431 · 2018-12-25 · ·

A method of controlling the deceleration of a vehicle to account for an increase in friction in the vehicle brake system as the vehicle decelerates. The method comprises receiving a signal indicative of a value of the speed of the vehicle and a signal indicative of a value of a brake pressure in the vehicle brake system. The method further comprises comparing the vehicle speed value and the brake pressure value to respective thresholds. The method still further comprises increasing the drive torque applied to one or more wheels of the vehicle when the vehicle speed value falls below the threshold to which it was compared and the brake pressure value exceeds the threshold to which it was compared, such that the increased drive torque acts against the braking of the vehicle as the vehicle is decelerated to a stop.
