The state detecting device detects a movement state of a movable carrier. The environmental detecting device includes at least one image capturing module and an operation module. The brake controlling method thereof includes receive the movement state detected by the state detecting device, and deriving an operating distance based on the movement state with the operation module; capture the environmental image with the image capturing module; determine whether there is an obstruction within the operating distance based on the environmental image; automatically actuate the braking device with the emergency brake controlling device when there is the obstruction within the operating distance in the environmental image, thereby to stop the movable carrier within the operating distance.
BRAKE SYSTEM PROVIDING LIMITED ANTISKID CONTROL DURING A BACKUP MODE OF OPERATION
A brake system for a vehicle is disclosed and includes an energy storage device configured to store and discharge energy, a plurality of wheels having an observer wheel, one or more processors operatively coupled to the energy storage device, and a memory coupled to the one or more processors. The memory stores data comprising a database and program code that, when executed by the one or more processors, causes the brake system to determine the brake system is operating in a backup mode of operation. In response to determining the brake system is operating in the backup mode of operation, the brake system is caused to apply a first brake pressure command to the observer wheel. In response to determining the observer wheel is starting the skid condition, the brake system is caused to determine a second brake pressure command based on a target slip value.
Method for controlling an electronically slip-controllable power braking system
A method for controlling an electronically slip-controllable power braking system of a motor vehicle. Power braking systems are equipped with a plunger unit, which includes a plunger piston accommodated in a plunger cylinder and delimiting a working chamber, for generating brake pressure in brake circuits. This plunger piston is actuatable by an electronically activatable drive in a pressure buildup direction or in the opposing spatial direction thereto in a pressure reducing direction. A time-limited drive of the plunger piston takes place in the pressure reducing direction as soon as an actual brake pressure generated by the plunger unit has reached a predefinable setpoint brake pressure and a decoupling of a wheel brake and the plunger unit from an associated brake circuit has taken place.
ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL
A system includes a computer having a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to determine a braking distance based on a gap distance between a primary vehicle and a second vehicle in an adjacent lane, and based on a speed of the second vehicle in the adjacent lane. The instructions include instructions to actuate a braking system of the primary vehicle when the primary vehicle is the braking distance from a third vehicle in a same lane as the primary vehicle.
VEHICLE ATTITUDE CONTROL SYSTEM
Disclosed is a vehicle attitude control system for controlling the attitude of a vehicle in which a road wheel suspension is configured such that a roll axis of a vehicle body inclines downwardly in a forward direction. The vehicle attitude control system includes: a lateral acceleration sensor operable to detect a lateral acceleration; a brake actuator operable to apply a braking force; and a brake control device operable, based on a traveling state of the vehicle, to generate the braking force, wherein the brake control device is configured to execute vehicle attitude control of applying, to an inner rear road wheel, a larger braking force when the lateral acceleration of the vehicle is relatively large than when the lateral acceleration is relatively small, thereby suppressing uplift of an inner rear portion of the vehicle body.
BRAKE ACTUATOR FOR A RAIL VEHICLE
A brake actuator for a rail vehicle has a sensor for detecting a braking force generated in the brake actuator, a sensor for detecting vibrations generated by the braking force in the brake actuator, and a control unit. The control unit is configured so as to generate a relationship between the speed of the rail vehicle with a generated braking force and a frequency of the vibrations generated by the braking force.
System and method for controlling an automated braking application
A controller comprises an electronic communication line configured to receive a system brake request control signal representing a requested system brake application and an identified urgency. A hardware processor, configured to perform a predefined set of basic operations in response to receiving the system brake request control signal, is capable of: determining a maximum braking pressure to be applied during the system braking application based on the identified urgency; generating a first system brake mode control signal, based on the determined maximum braking pressure, to set an associated first valve to a first valve state; generating a second system brake mode control signal, based on the determined maximum braking pressure, to set an associated second valve to a second valve state, the maximum braking pressure during the system braking application being set by the first valve state and the second valve state; determining an activation profile for an associated modulator based on the determined maximum braking pressure; the controller transmitting, via the electronic communication line, the first system brake mode control signal, the second system brake mode control signal and modulator control signals according to the activation profile.
