Automatic downhill snub braking
Methods and apparatus are disclosed herein that perform automatic downhill snub braking. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes an electronic powertrain controller to cause a deceleration of a vehicle in response to a first request from an electronic cruise controller, the first request responsive to a change in grade of a driving surface and an electronic brake controller to apply snub braking to the vehicle in response to a second request received from the electronic cruise controller, the second request responsive to a speed of the vehicle reaching a maximum speed.
Transmission control device
Provided is a transmission control device which can improve drivability in an acceleration section even while taking a reduction of fuel consumption in a deceleration section into consideration. The transmission control device (transmission controller) which controls a transmission in a running control of a vehicle includes a shift timing calculation unit which determines an acceleration position at which the vehicle accelerates on the basis of a target speed pattern generated from external information, a target gear ratio calculation unit which determines a required gear ratio which is required at the acceleration position, and a gear ratio overwriting command unit which outputs a command of overwriting the gear ratio such that the gear ratio at the acceleration position approaches the required gear ratio. In the control of the transmission of the transmission controller, the gear ratio is set to the required gear ratio (target gear ratio) at a predetermined point after the vehicle exits the deceleration section and reaches the acceleration position.
Operating method for an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle
The invention relates to an operating method for an automatic transmission, particularly for an automatic variable-speed transmission and/or dual-clutch transmission, for a motor vehicle. The automatic transmission can be operated in a cost-effective manner, particularly with reduced component wear and increased service life, and/or the driving comfort of the vehicle can be improved such that when lifting of at least one driven vehicle wheel off the roadway during braking is detected by the operating method, then for the length of said braking process, in the event of an incomplete gear change into a gear of the transmission, the engagement of a gear is prevented and/or the beginning of a gear change into a gear of the transmission is prevented.
Driving control apparatus for a vehicle
A driving control apparatus for a vehicle is disclosed. The driving control apparatus includes: an object detection device configured to detect objects in the vicinity of the vehicle and generate information on the objects; a sensing unit configured to detect a state of the vehicle and generate vehicle state information; and a processor configured to: based on the vehicle state information and the information on the objects, generate information on collision with a first object out of the objects, and based on the information on the collision, generate a control signal for at least one of steering, partial braking, and partial driving of the vehicle and provide the generated control signal so as to control operation of the vehicle after the collision through at least one of a steering control action, a partial braking control action, and a partial driving control action.

METHODS AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING VEHICLE DRIFT FOR VEHICLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS
Methods and systems are provided for inducing vehicle side slip. In one example, a method comprises opening a sole driveline disconnect clutch positioned between an engine and an electric machine upstream of a transmission, and closing the sole driveline disconnect clutch within a predetermined amount of time after opening the sole driveline disconnect without shifting gears of the transmission. In this way, vehicle drift may be reliable initiated in a hybrid electric vehicle with an automatic transmission, without shifting gears of the transmission.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ELECTRIC VEHICLE
When braking of the electric vehicle is performed, the braking is controlled based on a target braking split ratio which is a target value of the ratio of the braking force that is applied to the rear wheels to a total braking force that is applied to the front and rear wheels. In this case, an initial value of the target braking split ratio is set to a value within an allowable range about a transmission split ratio when braking of the electric vehicle is started while the electric vehicle is being braked by the motor, the transmission split ratio being the ratio of a braking force that is transmitted from a drive shaft to the rear wheels via a driving force split device to a total braking force that is transmitted from the drive shaft to the front and rear wheels via the driving force split device.
Vehicle with brake traction control and method for controlling traction of a vehicle
A vehicle includes front suspension assemblies; rear suspension assemblies; a left driven wheel and a right driven wheel with first left and right brake assemblies; a left wheel and a right wheel with second left and right brake assemblies; an anti-lock braking system (ABS) module; a drive mode coupler connected between the transmission and the left and right wheels for changing between a 24 and a 44 drive configuration; and a drive mode switch for controlling the drive mode coupler, the ABS module selectively performing brake traction control of at least one wheel based on the position of the drive mode switch. A method for controlling traction of the vehicle includes sensing the drive mode switch position and when the drive mode changes from a 24 position to a 44 position, causing the ABS module to perform brake traction control on at least one wheel.
Method for the automated electronic control of a braking system and electronically controllable braking system in a utility vehicle
A method for automatic electronic control of a brake system in a vehicle includes reading a request signal for automatic electronic control of actuators in the vehicle. At least one of the actuators has an influence on actual longitudinal vehicle dynamics of the vehicle, and requests that are to be implemented by the actuators for realizing automatically requested target longitudinal vehicle dynamics are transmitted via the request signal. The method further includes plausibility-checking the request signal to establish whether the requests are, or can be, implemented completely or without error by the actuators, taking into account a tolerance, and determining a correction deceleration and/or a correction velocity if the implementation of at least one of the requests has not taken place, or cannot take place, completely or without error, taking into account the tolerance, in order to specify corrective braking.
Method and System for Enhanced Braking in a Tractor Unit
A method for controlling the braking effort of a tractor unit relative to the braking effort of a trailer being towed by the tractor unit comprises: activating an enhanced braking mode in the tractor unit; receiving a braking command from an operator input device whilst in the enhanced braking mode; increasing a tractor unit speed demand on the tractor unit whilst receiving the braking command; and applying the brakes to the trailer and tractor unit, wherein the braking effort applied to the tractor unit is reduced relative to the trailer due to the increased speed demand.
