Vehicle brake system with secondary brake module

A brake system has a wheel brake and is operable under a non-failure normal braking mode and a manual push-through mode. The system includes a master cylinder operable by a brake pedal during a manual push-through mode to provide fluid flow at an output for actuating the wheel brake. A first source of pressurized fluid provides fluid pressure for actuating the wheel brake under a normal braking mode. A secondary brake module includes a plunger assembly for generating brake actuating pressure for actuating the wheel brake under the manual push-through mode.

Vehicle movement control device, vehicle movement control method, and vehicle movement control program

An object of the invention is to realize an M+ control which is suitable to a driving scene without depending on pedal operation information of a driver. A vehicle motion control device according to the invention sets an absolute value of deceleration generated in the vehicle in a period in which the lateral motion of the vehicle is predicted to be changed from a state where the vehicle takes the lateral motion to a state where the vehicle does not take the lateral motion to be smaller than that generated in a period in which the lateral motion of the vehicle is predicted to be changed from a state the vehicle takes one of right and left lateral motions to a state where the vehicle takes the other lateral motion.

ELECTRIC BRAKE APPARATUS, ELECTRIC BRAKE CONTROL APPARATUS, AND BRAKE CONTROL APPARATUS

Wheel speed sensors detect wheel speeds of a plurality of wheels (i.e., a wheel speed of a front left wheel, a wheel speed of a front right wheel, a wheel speed of a rear left wheel, and a wheel speed of a rear right wheel), respectively. A braking control apparatus controls driving of an electric motor. The braking control apparatus drives the electric motor to increase a braking force when the wheel speed sensors detect wheel speed pulses from at least two wheels after a start to maintain the braking force.

A brake system may include an actuation device that may actuate a first piston-cylinder unit to apply pressure medium to at least one brake circuit via a valve device, where a piston of the first piston-cylinder unit separate first and second working chambers; a second piston-cylinder unit, having an electromotive drive and a transmission to feed pressure medium to at least one of the brake circuits via a valve device; and a motor-pump unit having a valve device to feed pressure medium to the brake circuits. The motor of the electromotive drive of the second piston-cylinder unit and the motor of the motor-pump unit may be used jointly or independently of one another, under control of a control device. The motor-pump unit is connected via two hydraulic connections, one or both of which may incorporate separating valves, to the first and second working chambers of the first piston-cylinder unit.

Controller of motorcycle brake system, motorcycle brake system, and control method of motorcycle brake system

A controller and a control method of a motorcycle brake system including a brake operator, a wheel braking assembly, and a controller. The controller is configured to perform a lean angle obtainment step during turning, and perform a positive gradient setting step. The positive gradient corresponds to the lean angle obtained. The controller is also configured to initiate a braking force suppression operation in states where the motorcycle makes a turn and increases input to the brake operator. This operation is executed to increase braking force generated by the wheel braking assembly in a smaller positive gradient of hydraulic pressure in a wheel cylinder than a positive gradient of hydraulic pressure in a master cylinder when the braking force on the wheel depends only on the input to the brake operator. The braking force suppression operation is initiated in the positive gradient when an initiation reference is satisfied.

Method and system for handling conditions of a road on which a vehicle travels

A method performed by a vehicle system for handling conditions of a road on which a vehicle travels. The vehicle system detect that a first part of the road has a first condition which is different from a second condition of a second part of the road. The vehicle system estimates friction of the first part and evaluates the estimated friction. The vehicle system determines that the vehicle's motion should be adjusted when a result of the evaluation indicates that the estimated friction of the first part of the road affects the vehicle's expected motion, and initiates adjustment of the vehicle's motion on the road as determined.

A vehicle control system includes a powertrain electronic control unit and an electronic stability control unit that is connected to the powertrain electronic control unit via a vehicle communication bus. The vehicle powertrain includes a wheel, a wheel speed sensor that is configured to detect a speed of the wheel, an electric motor that is configured to drive the wheel, and an electric motor speed sensor that is configured to detect the speed of the electric motor. If the vehicle is not traveling at low speeds (for example, less than 2 kilometers per hour), the electronic stability control unit controls the vehicle based on an output of the wheel speed sensor. However, if the vehicle is traveling at low speeds, the electronic stability control unit controls the vehicle based on an output of the electric motor speed sensor.
