Hybrid vehicle

One axle of a hybrid vehicle is powered by an electric motor while a second axle of the vehicle is powered by a powertrain that includes an internal combustion engine. The electrically driven axle can be controlled in a speed control mode or in a torque control mode based on a driver demanded torque. The speed control mode is used when slip is detected at the electrically driven axle. The torque control mode is used when the electrically driven axle has traction. During a transition between these modes, the rate of change of torque is controlled to a predetermined level to mitigate noise, vibration, and harshness.

The hybrid drive apparatus includes an engine, first and second motor generators and a planetary gear mechanism. An output shaft of the first motor generator, an output shaft of an engine and an output shaft of the second motor generator, and an input shaft of the continuously variable transmission mechanism are coupled respectively to a sun gear, ring gear and carrier of the planetary gear mechanism. The hybrid drive apparatus includes first, second and third clutches which can switch engagement/disengagement respectively between the output shaft of the engine and the ring gear, between the carrier and the ring gear, and on the input shaft of the continuously variable transmission mechanism.

The dual clutch assembly (14) also includes a third clutch (K3) for connecting the first sub-transmission (32) and the second sub-transmission (34), a first electric machine (56) connected to the first input shaft (24), a second electric machine (60) connected to the second input shaft (26), and a control device (22) for actuating the dual clutch assembly (14), the transmission arrangement (16), the third clutch (K3), and the first electric machine (56) and the second electric machine (60).

The processing circuitry is configured to execute a display process that notifies a user that the filter needs to be regenerated when the control mode is the second mode if the estimated deposition amount is greater than or equal to a predetermined amount, and not to execute the display process when the control mode is the first mode even if the deposition amount is greater than or equal to the predetermined amount.

A military vehicle includes a chassis, a front axle coupled to the chassis, a rear axle coupled to the chassis, and a driveline. The driveline includes an engine, an energy storage system, a front end accessory drive positioned in front of and coupled to the engine, a transmission coupled to at least one of the front axle or the rear axle, a second motor coupled to the transmission and electrically coupled to the energy storage system, and a clutch positioned between the engine and the second motor. The front end accessory drive includes an air compressor and a first motor. The first motor is electrically coupled to the energy storage system. The clutch is spring-biased into engagement with the engine and pneumatically disengaged by an air supply selectively provided thereto based on operation of the air compressor. The driveline is operable in an engine-only mode and an electric-only mode.

A method includes detecting a fault of a component of a vehicle. The method also includes providing a plurality of modes of operation for the vehicle including an engine only mode, an electric only mode, a hybrid mode, a partial engine only mode, a partial electric only mode and a partial hybrid mode. At least two of the plurality of modes of operation that avoid use of the faulty component are displayed on a display screen, and a selection of one of the at least two of the plurality of modes of operation that are displayed on the display screen is received. The method includes activating at least one electric, mechanical or software isolator to isolate or disengage at least one component associated with electric propulsion of the vehicle or at least one component associated with combustion engine propulsion of the vehicle that includes the faulty component.
