Hybrid vehicle and method of diagnosing abnormal condition of hybrid vehicle
In a hybrid vehicle, each of an engine and an MG1 is mechanically coupled to a drive wheel with a planetary gear being interposed. The planetary gear and an MG2 are configured such that motive power output from the planetary gear and motive power output from the MG2 are transmitted to the drive wheel as being combined. A controller makes WGV diagnosis for diagnosing whether or not a waste gate valve is normally controllable by issuing an instruction to a WGV actuator while the controller stops combustion in the engine and controls the MG1 and the MG2 in coordination to perform motoring of the engine during traveling of the hybrid vehicle.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING HYBRID VEHICLE
A hybrid vehicle control method controls a hybrid vehicle having an electric power source, a vehicle electrical equipment and drive motor to which electric power is supplied from the electric power source. The vehicle electrical equipment and the drive motor are electrically connected to the electric power source via at least a shared harness. When a temperature of the harness is equal to or greater than a predetermined temperature, upper limit values of electric power supplied from the electric power source to the vehicle electrical equipment and the drive motor are both reduced, and a degree of reduction in the upper limit value for the vehicle equipment is greater than a degree of reduction in the upper limit value for the drive motor.

Abnormality diagnosis apparatus and abnormality diagnosis method
An abnormality diagnosis apparatus includes: a friction identification unit that calculates a friction parameter that is a parameter used for calculation of frictional force of a power transmission mechanism connected to a motor; a model torque calculation unit that calculates model torque by performing a process of calculating an estimated value of torque of the motor by using a set value calculated in advance and the friction parameter; and an abnormality determination unit that diagnoses whether the power transmission mechanism is abnormal, on the basis of a result of comparison between the model torque and a motor torque detected by a motor torque detection unit.
DIAGNOSTIC AND CONTROL METHOD FOR A VEHICLE SYSTEM
Methods and systems are provided for controlling and diagnosing a mechanical vehicle component. In one example, a method may include determining a vehicle speed and a plurality of clutch position settings at a diagnostic controller, and identifying unauthorized conditions based on these determinations. Further, the diagnostic controller may trigger an active fault state of the mechanical vehicle component in order to avoid unauthorized conditions that may lead to unwanted or unanticipated changes in vehicle motion.
Lane keeping for autonomous vehicles
A system for a lane keeping feature of a vehicle is provided. The lane keeping feature has a predefined safety requirement criterion for keeping the vehicle within bounds while the lane keeping feature is active. The system comprises a road estimation module and a trajectory planning module. The road estimation module is configured to receive sensor data comprising information about a surrounding environment of the vehicle, and to determine a drivable area based on the sensor data. The drivable area comprises a left boundary and a right boundary extending along a direction of travel of the vehicle, wherein each boundary comprises a plurality of points distributed along each boundary, each point being associated with a confidence level. The trajectory planning module is configured to receive the determined drivable area, and to determine a nominal trajectory for the vehicle based on the received drivable area.
Powertrain control to preclude thermal-related reduced operation
A vehicle may include an engine, a traction battery, an electric motor, an electric cooling system, and a controller. The electric motor selectively converts torque from the engine to electric power and converts electric power from the traction battery to drive torque for the vehicle. The electric cooling system, responsive to a temperature of the traction battery exceeding a first threshold, cools the traction battery using the electric power. The controller, responsive to the temperature exceeding a second threshold less than the first threshold and accessory loads exceeding a third threshold, operates one or both of the engine and traction battery to maintain the temperature below the first threshold.
Method and device for controlling charging of vehicle battery
A method of controlling charging of a battery may include making, by a controller, the battery that supplies power to a drive motor start to be charged with a boosted voltage higher than a voltage of a fast charger by controlling a switch connecting the drive motor and the fast charger of a vehicle and a switch of an inverter driving the drive motor, for fast charging of the battery; determining, by the controller, whether a motor position sensor has failure according to an output signal of the motor position sensor which detects a position of the drive motor; engaging, by the controller, an engine clutch that is configured to connect or disconnect the engine of the vehicle and the drive motor, when the controller determines that the motor position sensor has the failure; and maintaining, by the controller, the fast charging for the battery when a rotation of the drive motor stops after the engine clutch is engaged.
Hybrid vehicle and control method for same
The hybrid vehicle includes an engine, a motor connected to the engine, and an electronic control unit configured to control the motor to execute motoring to rotate a crankshaft of the engine. The electronic control unit is configured to execute speed-drop offset control when a rotation speed of the engine falls below a first rotation speed that is lower than a self-sustaining rotation speed of the engine while the engine is operated in a self-sustaining manner at the self-sustaining rotation speed.
