METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING AN AUTOMATICALLY DRIVING VEHICLE
20220215699 · 2022-07-07 ·

A method for controlling an automatically driving vehicle by a vehicle control center includes transmitting a sensor signal recorded on a part of the vehicle to the vehicle control center, where the sensor signal has a time stamp, and checking the time stamp in the vehicle control center upon receipt of the sensor signal. When a predetermined first age of the time stamp of the sensor signal is exceeded the sensor signal is displayed in a marked manner to a teleoperator of the vehicle control center for identifying a signal delay and when the time stamp exceeds a predetermined second age a display of the sensor signal is suppressed.

Electric vehicles with engines and interaction with aftertreatment

Systems and methods to control operation of a system based on aftertreatment interaction include a controller structured to receive one or more parameters associated with an exhaust aftertreatment system of an electric vehicle, where the one or more parameters are associated with an aftertreatment event associated with the aftertreatment system, determine an operation state of the system based on the one or more parameters, and generate a command structured to adjust operation of the system responsive to the determination of the operation state.

Methods and system for starting an engine

Systems and methods for starting an engine that is incorporated into a hybrid vehicle driveline are described. In one example, a torque converter clutch is fully opened if a threshold amount has transpired after a request for torque converter clutch slip is requested but not delivered. Further, the torque converter clutch may be fully opened if a commanded torque converter clutch torque capacity is less than a threshold torque capacity.

ADAS MONITORING EVENT SYSTEM

The ADAS monitoring event system of the present invention has the advantages of checking whether an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) is operating appropriately and a state during driving based on vehicle-related data, increasing the safety of autonomous driving, and resolving disputes in the event of a traffic accident.

PREDICTIVE AMMONIA RELEASE CONTROL

Embodiments are directed towards controlling uncontrolled release of ammonia from an engine of a vehicle. An estimated status of the engine is determined prior to an event, such as an estimated load on the engine prior to the vehicle going up a hill. A predictive model of uncontrolled ammonia release is generated for the estimated status. At least one engine-related countermeasure is selected based on the predictive model. If the predictive model of uncontrolled ammonia release with the selected countermeasures satisfies a threshold condition, then the selected engine-related countermeasure is employed.

MALICIOUS EVENT DETECTION FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

A system comprises an autonomous vehicle (AV) and a control device operably coupled with the AV. The control device detects a series of events within a threshold period of time, where a number of series of events in the series of events is above a threshold number. The series of events taken in the aggregate within the threshold period of time deviates from a normalcy mode. The normalcy mode comprises events that are expected to the encountered by the AV. The control device determines whether the series of events corresponds to a malicious event, where the malicious event indicates tampering with the AV. In response to determining that the series of events corresponds to the malicious event, the series of events are escalated to be addressed.

System for controlling an engine disconnect clutch in a hybrid vehicle

A vehicle includes an engine having a crankshaft, an electric machine having a rotor, a disconnect clutch having an input secured to the crankshaft and an output secured to the rotor, a hydraulic pump mechanically powered via rotation of the rotor and configured to supply hydraulic fluid to the actuate the disconnect clutch, a torque converter having an impeller secured to the rotor, and controller. The controller is programmed to, responsive to a speed of the impeller decreasing to less than a first threshold, which is indicative of a subsequent shutdown of the hydraulic pump, and responsive to the disconnect clutch being open while the engine is shut down, advance the disconnect clutch to a touch point where opposing sides of disconnect clutch make contact but substantially zero power is transferred between the engine and the electric machine.

Perpendicular cut-in training

Techniques relating to training a model for detecting that a vehicle is likely to perform a cut-in maneuver are described. Computing device(s) can receive log data associated with vehicles in an environment and can detect an event in the log data, wherein an event corresponds to a cut-in maneuver performed by a vehicle. In an example, the computing device(s) can generate training data based at least in part on converting a portion of the log data that corresponds to the event into a top-down representation of the environment and inputting the training data into a model, wherein the model is trained to output an indication of whether another vehicle is likely to perform another cut-in maneuver.

Operating continuously variable transmission at discrete gear ratios

A vehicle includes an engine, a continuously variable transmission including an input shaft coupled to the engine, an output shaft, an electric machine, and a gearing arrangement. The electric machine is configured to actuate the gearing arrangement to change a speed ratio between the input and output shafts. A controller is programmed to, responsive to a request to manually shift the transmission to one of a predetermined number of virtual discrete speed ratios and the engine being OFF, command starting of the engine regardless of a driver-demand torque and operate the electric machine to shift the transmission to the one of the speed ratios.
