A vehicle driving assist apparatus acquires a collision index value which represents a magnitude of a collision of an own vehicle and a dozing level of a driver of the own vehicle, and executes a secondary collision reducing control of executing a forcibly-decelerating process of forcibly decelerating the own vehicle when a light collision condition is satisfied, and a dozing condition is satisfied. The vehicle driving assist apparatus executes the forcibly-decelerating process so as to decelerate the own vehicle with controlling a deceleration of the own vehicle such that the deceleration of the vehicle realized when the light collision condition and the dozing condition become satisfied, and the dozing level is relatively low, is smaller than the deceleration of the own vehicle realized when the deceleration when the light collision condition and the dozing condition become satisfied, and the dozing level is relatively high.

For each of a plurality of iterations, the method may further include generating a driving scenario based on the ODD of the AV and the real-world data through a Quality of Ride Experience (QoRE)-aware cognitive engine, plugging and running at least one of the ADAS and the AV algorithm based on the driving scenario, and determining a set of performance metrics corresponding to the at least one feature of at least one of the ADAS and the AV in the driving scenario based on the simulating.

Method for operating a drivetrain of a motor vehicle, in particular a car
11345352 · 2022-05-31 · ·

A method for operating a drivetrain of a motor vehicle including at least one drive motor, a transmission device and at least one wheel which can be driven by the drive motor via the transmission device, in which respective actuations of respective shifting elements of the transmission device are brought about in order to influence thereby a transfer of a torque provided by the drive motor from the drive motor to the wheel via the transmission device, wherein—the torque provided by the drive motor is set as a function of a transfer function which indicates a factor by which the torque is to be multiplied, in order to calculate a wheel torque resulting from the torque and from the transfer and acting on the wheel.

Malicious event detection for autonomous vehicles
11731657 · 2023-08-22 · ·

A system comprises an autonomous vehicle (AV) and a control device operably coupled with the AV. The control device detects a series of events within a threshold period of time, where a number of series of events in the series of events is above a threshold number. The series of events taken in the aggregate within the threshold period of time deviates from a normalcy mode. The normalcy mode comprises events that are expected to the encountered by the AV. The control device determines whether the series of events corresponds to a malicious event, where the malicious event indicates tampering with the AV. In response to determining that the series of events corresponds to the malicious event, the series of events are escalated to be addressed.

On-board controller and method for controlling vehicle

An on-board controller executes a torque reduction process that reduces torque generated by an electric motor when a brake pedal of a vehicle is depressed and the vehicle is stopped during motor creep driving. When a start request for an internal combustion engine is issued, the on-board controller executes an engine start process that sets a clutch mechanism to an engagement state, which engages an output shaft of the internal combustion engine with an output shaft of the electric motor, and drives the electric motor to perform cranking. When a state in which the clutch mechanism is maintained immediately before the engagement state is defined as an engagement preparation state, the on-board controller executes a preparation process that applies hydraulic pressure to the clutch mechanism during execution of the torque reduction process so that the clutch mechanism is set to the engagement preparation state.

VEHICLE FUEL CONSUMPTION MONITOR AND FEEDBACK SYSTEMS
20220126856 · 2022-04-28 ·

Excess fuel consumption monitor and feedback systems for vehicles include sensor arrays of two primary types including those sensors deployed as part of a vehicle manufacturer established sensor suite and sensors deployed as after-market sensors. Together, these sensor suites include sensors coupled to vehicle subsystems and operating environments associated with the vehicle. Data from these sensors may be used as parametric inputs to drive algorithmic calculations which have outputs that express excess fuel consumption. Expressions of excess fuel consumption may be made instantaneously as real-time feedback to a vehicle operator/driver and/or a fleet manager as part of a summary report.
