VOLTAGE CONTROLLED AIRCRAFT ELECTRIC PROPULSION SYSTEM

A voltage controlled aircraft electric propulsion system includes an electric propulsion system. The voltage controlled aircraft electric propulsion system may include electric propulsors providing thrust for the aircraft. In hybrid systems, a gas turbine engine may also be included. The electric propulsion system may include at least one electric generator power source, at least one propulsor motor load, and at least one stored energy power source, such as a battery. The propulsor motor load may be supplied power from a power supply bus. The voltage of the power supply bus may be adjusted according to an altitude of the aircraft while maintaining a substantially constant current flow to the propulsor motor load. Due to the adjustment to lower voltages at increased altitude, insulations levels may be lower.

User-Centered Motion Planning In A Mobile Ecosystem
20230098988 · 2023-03-30 ·

A mobile ecosystem includes an autonomous control system in a vehicle. The autonomous control system receives user information from at least one of a user device or the vehicle and identifies a trajectory plan and a vehicle configuration based on the user information. The trajectory plan identifies a departure time for the vehicle to depart a starting location, an arrival time for the vehicle to arrive at a destination location, and a travel route for the vehicle to traverse at least partially between the starting location and the destination location. The trajectory plan may identify an entry time for the user to enter the vehicle. The vehicle configuration identifies travels settings for components in at least one of dynamic systems or interior systems of the vehicle. The autonomous control system causes the components to be configured according to the travel settings and causes the vehicle to traverse the travel route.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING A HEATING CYCLE TO AN AFTER-TREATMENT SYSTEM OF A VEHICLE
20220349328 · 2022-11-03 ·

A method of providing a heating cycle for an after-treatment system is described. The method comprises initiating a pre-charge cycle of a DCDC converter and determining a temperature of the after-treatment system. In response to determining the temperature of the after-treatment system is below a threshold temperature and the pre-charge is complete, the method further comprises operating a solid-state switch to electrically connect a high voltage power source to a heating element to of the after-treatment system, and heating the after-treatment system with the heating element until the after-treatment system reaches the threshold temperature.

Controlling driving modes of self-driving vehicles

A computer-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product controls a driving mode of a self-driving vehicle (SDV). One or more processors compare a control processor competence level of an on-board SDV control processor in controlling the SDV to a human driver competence level of a human driver in controlling the SDV while the SDV encounters a current roadway condition which is a result of current weather conditions of the roadway on which the SDV is currently traveling. One or more processors then selectively assign control of the SDV to the SDV control processor or to the human driver while the SDV encounters the current roadway condition based on which of the control processor competence level and the human driver competence level is relatively higher to one another.

In-vehicle life detection system and detection method thereof

An in-vehicle life detection system and detection method thereof are provided. The system includes a processor, an electromagnetic wave detection module, and a warning module. The method includes following steps: vehicle condition identifying step, life form detecting step, and warning step. Upon receiving an engine off signal and a driver absence signal, the processor emits a detection activation signal, activating the electromagnetic wave detection module to emit an electromagnetic wave for detecting a life form. When the life form is detected, the warning module sends a warning signal, indicating that the life form is left in the vehicle when the vehicle is in the engine off status with the doors closed. Thus, the tragedy of a life form remaining inside the vehicle incapable of calling for help is avoided.

HISTORY-BASED AND LOCATION-BASED CONTROL OF VEHICLE KEY-OFF LOADS
20220324399 · 2022-10-13 ·

An electrical system in a vehicle has a battery is configured to supply electrical current when a driver ignition key is in a Key-Off state. A. A plurality of electrical loads are each configurable to receive the electrical current flowing from the battery during the Key-Off state depending upon predetermined Key-Off-Load (KOL) Modes. A vehicle locator determines a geographic location of the vehicle. A sleep-time database records daily Key-On and Key-Off events according to changes between the Key-On state and the Key-Off state, wherein each Key-Off event is associated with a respective geographic location from the vehicle locator. An analyzer identifies Key-Off events sharing a repetitive time span and a common geographic location. A scheduler activates a timed KOL sequence according to the identified Key-Off events so that repetitive time slots of vehicle usage can be used to reduce battery drain during times when vehicle usage is less likely.

Vehicle control apparatus
11465609 · 2022-10-11 · ·

A vehicle control apparatus includes a controller that switches a vehicle between an HEV traveling mode and an EV traveling mode. When the output current of a DC-to-DC converter becomes equal to or higher than a threshold, the controller decreases the output current by decreasing the output voltage of the DC-to-DC converter through output regulation control. The controller makes switching between a normal setting in which the threshold for the output regulation control is set to a reference threshold and a boost setting in which the threshold is set to a boost threshold higher than the reference threshold. The controller prohibits the boost setting when a power margin for boosting becomes equal to or lower than a first power margin value in the HEV traveling mode and when the power margin for the boosting becomes equal to or lower than a second power margin value in the EV traveling mode.
