VEHICLE BRAKING SUPPORT DEVICE AND BRAKING SUPPORT CONTROL METHOD

Provided is a vehicle braking support device. The braking support device includes: detection units for detecting a state around a host vehicle; a braking support control unit for executing braking support by a braking device according to the detected state; and a vehicle stop control unit for maintaining a stopped state of a host vehicle after the host vehicle is stopped by the braking support control unit, and for releasing the stopped state of the host vehicle after a predetermined period has elapsed. The vehicle stop control unit, in a case where by using the detected state it is determined that it is desirable to maintain the stopped state of the host vehicle beyond the predetermined period, the vehicle stop control unit does not release the stopped state of the host vehicle until an operation by a driver is detected.

REMOTE PARKING APPARATUS

A remote parking apparatus executes a remote parking control to park the own vehicle in a designated parking space by controlling operations of the driving apparatus and the braking apparatus in response to commands from outside of the own vehicle. The remote parking apparatus executes a braking-drive process to apply the braking force to the own vehicle by the braking apparatus and apply the driving force to the own vehicle by the driving apparatus before starting to move the own vehicle by the remote parking control. The remote parking apparatus starts to move the own vehicle by the remote parking control on the condition that the own vehicle is maintained stopped until a predetermined time elapses from starting the braking-drive process.

APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING A TRAFFIC LIGHT, SYSTEM HAVING THE SAME AND METHOD THEREOF

A traffic light determining apparatus, a system including the same, and a method thereof, includes: a processor configured to obtain traffic light status information of an intersection while a vehicle is driven, and when obtaining the traffic light status information is not possible, configured to estimate the traffic light status information according to surrounding vehicle information or pedestrian information; and a storage configured to store data and algorithms driven by the processor.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROTECTING A VEHICLE AT AN INTERSECTION

Systems and methods for protecting a vehicle at an intersection are disclosed herein. One embodiment detects that the vehicle is stopped at the intersection at one of a first position and a second position; detects that a driver of the vehicle is pressing on an accelerator pedal of the vehicle; delays acceleration of the vehicle automatically by a first predetermined period, when the vehicle has been detected at the first position; and delays acceleration of the vehicle automatically by a second predetermined period, when the vehicle has been detected at the second position. Delaying acceleration of the vehicle automatically prevents the vehicle from being struck by a cross-traffic vehicle that has proceeded through the intersection against a first traffic signal in a red-light state.

Provided is a frequency determination unit that determines whether a prohibition frequency at which a drive source control unit prohibits a vehicle from being put in an EV priority mode is equal to or higher than a second threshold value when the vehicle has traveled between a predetermined location and a destination in the past in a state in which a specific target SOC is set to a value lower than a EV-SW permission SOC. When the frequency determination unit determines that the prohibition frequency is equal to or higher than the second threshold value and when the vehicle travels between the predetermined location and the destination, a low SOC control unit adjusts at least one of the specific target SOC and the EV-SW permission SOC such that the specific target SOC becomes a value that is equal to or higher than the EV-SW permission SOC.

A VP includes an EPB system configured to switch between activation and release of brakehold and a VCIB that interfaces between an ADS and a VP. The VCIB is configured to provide a standstill status signal to the ADS. The standstill status signal includes a value applied indicating activation of brakehold and a value released indicating release of brakehold. The ADS includes a compute assembly. When the compute assembly requests the VP to activate brakehold, it requests the VP to decelerate until the standstill status signal switches from the value released to the value applied.

Systems and methods are provided for generating data indicative of a friction associated with a driving surface, and for using the friction data in association with one or more vehicles. In one example, a computing system can detect a stop associated with a vehicle and initiate a steering action of the vehicle during the stop. The steering action is associated with movement of at least one tire of the vehicle relative to a driving surface. The computing system can obtain operational data associated with the steering action during the stop of the vehicle. The computing system can determine a friction associated with the driving surface based at least in part on the operational data associated with the steering action. The computing system can generate data indicative of the friction associated with the driving surface.
