Trajectory generation using lateral offset biasing
A trajectory for a vehicle can be generated using a lateral offset bias. The vehicle, such as an autonomous vehicle (AV), may be directed to follow reference trajectory for through an environment. The AV may determine a segment associated with the reference trajectory based on curvatures of the reference trajectory, determine a lateral offset bias associated with the segment based at least in part on, for example, one or more of a speed or acceleration of the vehicle, and determine a candidate trajectory for the autonomous vehicle based at least in part on the lateral offset bias. The candidate trajectory may then be used to control the autonomous vehicle.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DISPLAY OF INFORMATION USING A VEHICLE-MOUNT COMPUTER
A system and method displays information using a vehicle-mount computer. The system includes (i) an input device and a display device for inputting and displaying information; (ii) a motion detector for detecting vehicle motion; (iii) a proximity sensor for detecting proximity to an item; and (vi) a vehicle-mount computer in communication with the input device, the display device, the motion detector, and the proximity sensor, the vehicle-mount computer including a central processing unit and memory. The vehicle-mount computer's central processing unit is configured to store information associated with user-selected information from the input device and to display a zoomed view of the user-selected information on the display device. Further, the vehicle-mount computer's central processing unit is configured to override screen-blanking when user-selected information is displayed.
VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD
Embodiments of the present invention provide a vehicle control system comprising a speed control system, the speed control system being configured automatically to attempt to cause a vehicle to operate in accordance with a target speed value by causing a first vehicle speed value determined according to a first predetermined method to become or be maintained substantially equal to the predetermined target speed value at least in part by causing application of positive drive torque to one or more wheels by means of a powertrain, wherein the speed control system is configured to impose a constraint on the amount of driving torque that may be demanded of the powertrain in dependence on the target speed value and a second vehicle speed value determined according to a second predetermined method, said a second predetermined method being based on the mean speed of the driven wheels of the vehicle.
DEVICE INTENDED FOR REMOTELY CHANGING THE POWER AND/OR SPEED OF A RECREATIONAL VEHICLE AND TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE POSITION OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL
A device for remotely changing the control of power generated by an internal combustion engine of a recreational vehicle driven by a driver controlling an accelerator pedal. The device includes a remote control, sending a signal for modulating the power and/or speed of the engine. The device comprises a system for measuring the position of the accelerator pedal, a system for receiving the signal for modulating the power and/or speed, a system for controlling the intake of gases into the engine, and an electronics module connected to the various systems, establishing rules for controlling the intake control system, depending on the position of the accelerator pedal and the received modulation signal.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PERFORMING AN ENGINE STOP AND START FOR A ROLLING VEHICLE
Methods and systems for improving operation of a vehicle driveline that includes an engine and an automatic transmission with a torque converter are presented. In one non-limiting example, the engine may be stopped while a vehicle in which the engine operates is rolling. A transmission coupled to the engine may be shifted as the vehicle rolls so that vehicle response may be improved if a driver requests an increase of engine torque.
CONTROL APPARATUS FOR HYBRID VEHICLE AND CONTROL METHOD FOR HYBRID VEHICLE
An electronic control unit is configured to select one of a series mode, a series-parallel mode and a parallel mode as a running mode. A load level of a hybrid vehicle is set to a value that is high in the order of a load level at which the parallel mode is selected, a load level at which the series-parallel mode is selected, and a load level at which the series mode is selected. That is, the electronic control unit selects the series-parallel mode in an intermediate load region, selects the series mode in a low load region, and selects the parallel mode in a high load region.
AUTOMOBILE INCLUDING MOTOR FOR RUNNING THE AUTOMOBILE
When there is an abnormality in communications between a motor ECU and an HVECU in an automobile, the motor ECU controls a motor such that creep torque or a given torque larger than the creep torque is delivered from the motor. Thus, when there is an abnormality in communications between the HVECU and the motor ECU, the automobile is able to run in a limp home mode.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR OPERATING A VEHICLE
A vehicle is operable in a first operating mode in which the vehicle travels autonomously inside the traffic lane based on a detection of lane markings of a traffic lane and in a second operating mode in which the vehicle autonomously follows a vehicle driving in front while ignoring lane markings, and a method of its operation includes operating the vehicle in a first of the two operating modes, detecting a vehicle environment, and switching from the first operating mode to the other of the two operating modes as a function of the detected vehicle environment. A device can execute the method and a computer program can be executed by a device for performing the method.
DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A driver assistance system for motor vehicles, including at least one sensor for detecting object properties of objects which are located in the surroundings of the motor vehicle; a first interface; an output unit for transmitting the object properties to a user; and a control unit. The sensor transmits the object properties in a form of a first signal to the first interface. The first interface transmits the object properties, received in the form of the first signal, to the control unit in the form of a second signal, the control unit being configured to forward the object properties, received in the form of a second signal, to the output unit and to control the output of the object properties by the output unit.
METHOD FOR MONITORING A DRIVE-BY-WIRE SYSTEM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for monitoring a drive-by-wire system of a motor vehicle, including: temporally offset reading in of at least two input values of an input quantity of an operating element of the motor vehicle; ascertaining a change over time or rate of change over time of the input quantity from the at least two read-in input values; determination of a monitored quantity for the motor vehicle operation from the change over time or rate of change over time; selection of a monitoring function on the basis of the monitored quantity; monitoring of the monitored quantity for the ascertained motor vehicle operation by the monitoring function.
