Transmission and integrated transfer case

A transfer case and transmission are designed to permit the transmission hydraulic control system to control a range selection coupler and a torque on demand clutch in the transfer case. Two pressure circuits are transmitted from the transmission to the transfer case: a high range circuit and a low range circuit. The low range circuit is pressurized to engage low range while the range circuit is pressurized to engage high range. The torque on demand clutch is controlled by whichever of these circuits has the higher pressure. Lubrication is provided to a front section of the transfer case via the transmission output shaft, with the fluid returning to the transmission sump through a drainback passageway. The rear portion of the transfer case has a segregated sump. A control strategy is employed to partially fill front section of the transfer case with fluid in preparation for vehicle towing.

The system is provided with a controller that controls the acceleration and deceleration of the vehicle according to the operation quantity of an accelerator pedal, and a state detector that determines whether a wheel is in a slippery state. The controller sets a deceleration region corresponding to a relatively small amount of operation and an acceleration region corresponding to a relatively large operation quantity regarding the operation quantity, and controls such that, in at least partially, the deceleration of the vehicle is increased as the operation quantity decreases, while in at least a part of the acceleration region, the acceleration of the vehicle is increased as the operation quantity increases. When the state detector detects a slippery state, the controller decreases the maximum deceleration that can be produced in the deceleration region.

The control apparatus includes an electronic control unit that is configured to acquire an oil temperature of hydraulic oil for controlling the continuously variable transmission and the clutch, and control the clutch such that a torque capacity of the clutch becomes smaller than a torque capacity that is set in a case where an oil temperature of the hydraulic oil is higher than a predetermined oil temperature, when the oil temperature is equal to or lower than the predetermined oil temperature, or control the continuously variable transmission such that a speed ratio of the continuously variable transmission becomes equal to or larger than a lower limit set in advance when the oil temperature of the hydraulic oil is equal to or lower than the predetermined oil temperature.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING TORQUE INDUCED YAW IN A VEHICLE

Systems and methods are provided herein for operating a vehicle in a vehicle yaw mode. In response to initiating vehicle yaw mode, the system engages an open-loop mode, that provides open-loop forward torque to the outer wheels of the vehicle and open-loop backward torque to the inner wheels of the vehicle until a sufficient number of wheels are slipping. In response to determining that a sufficient number of wheels are slipping, engaging a closed-loop mode. While operating in the closed-loop mode, one or both of the wheel rotation and vehicle yaw rate are monitored to adjust the torques provided to the wheels of the vehicle to control the vehicle yaw rate.

System and Method for Data-Driven Reference Generation
