TRANSPORT SLOPE MANAGEMENT
An example operation includes one or more of determining, by sensors on a transport, a slope of a road and a surface condition of the road and engaging one or more wheels of the transport, based on the slope, the surface condition, and a characteristic of the one or more wheels. Engaging includes braking to the one or more wheels at a different rate as the transport is moving on the road.
REVERSING TRAILER PATH FOLLOWING
A method of reversing a trailer along a defined path according to a disclosed exemplary embodiment includes, among other possible things, detecting a deviation from a predefined path of a trailer coupled to a tow vehicle with a sensor system disposed within the tow vehicle, determining a correction path required to move the trailer back to the predefined path, determining a dampening factor for limiting deviation from the predefined path, combining the determined correction path and the dampening factor to determine a desired curvature, wherein the desired curvature represents a path from a current position of the trailer to the predefined path, and determining a steering angle of the tow vehicle that provides the desired curvature.
PATH PLANNING FOR TOW VEHICLE AND TRAILER
A method of planning a path for reversing a trailer along a defined path a includes defining a desired end point for a trailer path and determining a set of reversing trailer curvatures for moving the trailer between each of a plurality of possible waypoints along a possible trailer path. A steering angle is determined for each of the curvatures. The reversing trailer path to the end point is then created based on a set of waypoints selected based on the determined reversing trailer curvature at each of the plurality of possible waypoints that meets a defined path determination criteria.
Travel mode switching device for vehicle and display unit of the same
A travel mode switching device for a vehicle is provided, which is switchable between a plurality of travel modes including a sport travel mode and a towing travel mode. The device includes a travel mode selection interface that allows a driver to select one of the travel modes, a towing detection sensor that detects a towing state, and a processor configured to execute a travel mode switching module to switch the travel mode to the travel mode selected by the travel mode selection interface, and a travel mode regulating module to regulate the selection of the sport travel mode by the travel mode selection interface when the towing state is detected by the towing detection sensor, and regulate the selection of the towing travel mode by the travel mode selection interface when the towing state is not detected.
DYNAMIC PERCEPTION ZONE ESTIMATION
A vehicle control system for an off-road vehicle including a processing circuit including a processor and memory, the memory having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the processing circuit to receive a first parameter associated with a characteristic of the off-road vehicle, receive a second parameter associated with a characteristic of an environment of the off-road vehicle, generate, based on the first and second parameters, a perception zone for the off-road vehicle, control the off-road vehicle to avoid an obstacle using the perception zone, receive an indication of a change in at least one of the first parameter or the second parameter, and update the perception zone based on the change in the at least one of the first parameter or the second parameter.
Rear-side alarm device and rear-side alarm method thereof
A rear-side alarm device and a rear-side alarm method thereof. The rear-side alarm device includes a sensor and a controller. The sensor monitors a rear area or a rear-side area of a vehicle. If a trailer connected to the vehicle is detected, the controller sets a system deactivation area and a system activation area, based on status information of the trailer, and controls an alarm operation to be performed by judging whether or not another vehicle has entered into the system activation area. The rear-side alarm device can operate normally even in the case in which a trailer is connected to a vehicle, thereby providing driving safety to a driver.
Brake control technique to stop a vehicle for assisting automatic trailer hitching
A vehicle control system configured to control a braking operation of a hitch ball to a coupler on a trailer. The system may comprise a vehicle brake control system, a maneuvering system, an image sensor configured to capture an image data, and a velocity sensor. The system may also comprise a vehicle mass sensor configured to detect a vehicle mass and a controller. The controller may be configured to control the maneuvering system of the vehicle along a vehicle path. The controller may also identify a coupler distance based on the image data depicting a coupler of the trailer. The controller may also calculate a stopping distance for the braking operation based on a plurality of braking parameters, wherein the braking parameters comprise the velocity, the brake pressure, and the vehicle mass.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING AUTONOMOUS DRIVING
A method for controlling autonomous driving for an autonomous driving vehicle, includes collecting sensing information on autonomous driving in an autonomous driving mode, calculating an initial longitudinal control value based on the sensing information on the autonomous driving, correcting the initial longitudinal control value based on the sensing information, and performing a longitudinal driving control by transmitting the corrected longitudinal control value to a lower controller.
TRAILER SWAY MITIGATION WITH STEERING SYSTEMS
A system for mitigating a sway of a trailer. The system includes a sensor set configured to sense a plurality of operating characteristics of a vehicle and an electronic processor connected to the sensor set. The electronic processor is configured to receive the plurality of operating characteristics from the sensor set, determine whether the trailer is swaying based on the plurality of operating characteristics, determine, in response to the trailer swaying, a target deceleration, determine, in response to the trailer swaying, a target yaw value, and modify a current yaw value to counter the trailer sway until reaching the target yaw value.
System and Method for Motion and Path Planning for Trailer-Based Vehicle
A system for controlling a motion of a trailer-based vehicle from an initial state till a target state, wherein each state includes a location and a heading of the trailer-based vehicle. The trailer-based vehicle includes a tractor and at least one trailer attached to the tractor such that the motion of the tractor controls the motion of the trailer. The system is configured to collect a set of motion primitives parameterized on quantized pseudo-trailer-configuration from a finite set of quantized pseudo-trailer-configurations, and repetitively select a node based on corresponding cost, and apply motion primitives at the selected node based on corresponding pseudo-trailer-configuration to add new nodes having pseudo-trailer-configurations belonging to set of all possible values. The system is configured to connect a sequence of multiple motion primitives into motion path connecting initial state with target state and control the motion of the tractor-trailer according to the motion path.
