RIDESHARE SERVICE FLEET OPTIMIZATION USING VEHICLE SENSOR DATA

A method is described and includes acquiring sensor data produced by sensors of a plurality of vehicles traversing an area including a location of a user, wherein the vehicles traversing the area comprise a subset of a fleet of vehicles for providing rideshare services; processing the acquired sensor data to determine a category of the user; selecting a vehicle from the fleet of vehicles based on the category of the user, wherein the selected vehicle comprises at least one accommodation corresponding to the category of the user; and dispatching the selected vehicle to a pick-up location designated by the user.

Temporary customization of an operating characteristic of a vehicle feature

A method for enabling a user to temporarily customize an operating characteristic of a first vehicle feature. The method includes temporarily customizing an operating characteristic of a first vehicle feature by means of the vehicle electronic control unit based on acquired personal information. The temporary customized operating characteristic of the first vehicle feature does not remain customized more than a single driving cycle.

INFORMATION PROCESSING METHOD AND INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM

An information processing method to be executed by a computer, the information processing method including: obtaining a self-driving vehicle list and a rider list; obtaining a driving skill of each of a plurality of riders included in the rider list, the driving skill indicating whether the rider is capable of driving; allocating a plurality of self-driving vehicles included in the self-driving vehicle list to the plurality of riders in accordance with the driving skill of each of the plurality of riders to distribute riders capable of driving, among the plurality of riders, across the plurality of self-driving vehicle; and outputting a result of the allocating.

DYNAMIC ADAPTATION OF AUTOMOTIVE AI PROCESSING POWER AND ACTIVE SENSOR DATA
20220032967 · 2022-02-03 ·

Systems, methods, and apparatus related to dynamically adjusting sensing and/or processing resources of a vehicle. In one approach, sensor data is collected by sensing devices of the vehicle. A controller of the vehicle uses the sensor data to control one or more functions of the vehicle. The controller evaluates the sensor data to determine a context of operation (e.g., weather, lighting, and/or traffic) for the vehicle. Based on the context of operation, the controller adjusts the operation of one or more of the sensing or processing devices in real-time during operation of the vehicle. In one example, the adjustment reduces power consumption by the vehicle.

Management of vehicle sensors and responses to sensor data

A system for controlling vehicle sensors includes one or more processors and a memory coupled to the one or more processors and storing a sensor control module including instructions that control processor(s) to, if the vehicle is not moving, and responsive to occurrence of an event, control operation of at least one radar sensor to scan the vehicle occupant compartment at a first scanning rate. Responsive to an occurrence of another event following commencement of scanning at the first scanning rate, the processor(s) control operation of the at least one radar sensor to scan the occupant compartment at a second scanning rate different from the first scanning rate. After passage of a predetermined time period after commencement of scanning at the second scanning rate, it is determined whether a living object resides in the occupant compartment. If no living object resides in the occupant compartment, radar scanning of the occupant compartment is discontinued.

Driver Assistance System for an Autonomously Driving Vehicle, and Method for Guiding an Autonomously Driving Vehicle

A driving assistance system for an autonomously driving vehicle includes environment sensors in the vehicle, which are configured to detect environment data of the vehicle; a computing unit, which is configured to determine the position of a target person in a surrounding area of the vehicle on the basis of the environment data; and a device for autonomous driving, which is configured to move the vehicle to a position which is located at a predetermined distance or less from the position of the target person and to stop the vehicle there.

AUTOMATED DRIVE DEVICE AND AUTOMATED DRIVE METHOD

An automated drive device that automatically stops a vehicle in a pick-up and drop-off area in which a passenger gets and off the vehicle includes at least one processor and at least one memory that stores a program and information to be read by the at least one processor. The processor is configured to acquire the type of the passenger before the vehicle reaches the pick-up and drop-off area as a first process. The processor is configured to change a behavior for stopping the vehicle in the pick-up and drop-off area in accordance with the type of the passenger as a second process.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ALERTING USERS OF OBJECTS APPROACHING VEHICLES

A system, the system including one or more sensors arranged to detect an area in a proximity of a vehicle and a controller communicatively coupled to the one or more sensors. The controller is configured to determine that an ignition switch of the vehicle is turned off, determine that a user within the proximity of the vehicle based on data from the one or more sensors, determine that an object is approaching the vehicle based on the data, and alert the user of the object.

VEHICLE-BASED WELLNESS DIAGNOSTIC PLATFORM

A wellness diagnostic platform installed on a vehicle to identify potential passengers with evident symptoms of a contagious illness is described. The wellness diagnostic platform includes a wellness monitoring unit and a boarding confirmation unit. The wellness monitoring unit includes a camera and/or one or more thermal sensors. The camera may capture physical characteristics of the potential passenger to determine health and the thermal sensors can measure a temperature of the potential passenger prior to boarding the vehicle. The boarding confirmation unit is configured to receive at least a display object identifying a diagnostic result computed by the wellness monitoring unit that the potential passenger is (i) advised to board the vehicle when a temperature of the potential passenger is equal to or below a prescribed temperature threshold or (ii) advised to refrain from boarding the vehicle when the temperature of the potential passenger exceeds prescribed temperature threshold.
