Method and system for augmented alerting based on driver's state in hybrid driving
The present teaching relates to method, system, and medium, for generating an augmented alert in a hybrid vehicle. First information indicating an upcoming switch in an operating mode of the vehicle is received, which specifies a set of tasks, arranged in an order, to be completed by a driver in the vehicle to achieve the upcoming switch, and a task duration for each of the set of tasks by which the task is to be completed. A current state of the driver is obtained and used to determine a set of warnings to alert the driver to perform the set of tasks. Each warning corresponds to a task in the set of tasks and is created based on the current state of the driver. A warning schedule is generated based on the set of warnings in the order of the set of tasks and transmitted so that warnings in the warning schedule are delivered to the driver.
Sensing interactions with unpermitted components within a vehicle
Systems, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to sensing interactions of a passenger with components within a vehicle. In one embodiment, a method includes acquiring, from a radar of a vehicle, radar data about a passenger cabin of the vehicle. The method includes determining a current state of the passenger cabin according to the radar data. The method includes, responsive to identifying that the current state indicates that a passenger satisfies a threshold in relation to an unpermitted action, generating a response that counters the unpermitted action.
Vehicle window or panel covering with service level indicator
A service level indicator system for a vehicle includes one or more sensor that provides one or more of a battery charge level, fuel fill level, oil fill level, and tire pressure level to a control system that instructs the actuation of at least one of a sun visor, shade, and tonneau cover is positioned to generate a message that is readily understood by the vehicle's operator but is ambiguous to other viewers. These components require no power after actuation and do not draw attention to any message they transmit. The position can identify the level that is deficient, and the degree of the deficiency using one or a plurality of the vehicle's components. The entire message is viewable from at least the driver's side of the vehicle and can be at least partially received from any angle of approach to the vehicle.
Method for operating a motor vehicle in an activated, at least partially autonomous driving mode and authorization device for a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle
The present application relates to a method for operating a motor vehicle in an activated at least semi-autonomous driving mode, with the motor vehicle comprising a control unit which controls the motor vehicle in the at least one activated semi-autonomous driving mode. A detection device arranged in the motor vehicle detects at least one motor vehicle occupant (step S1). An authorization device linked to the detection device checks whether at least one of the at least one detected motor vehicle occupants meets at least one authorization criterion (step S2). If this is the case, the authorization device generates an enable signal (step S3a) and sends it to the control unit, which then activates the at least semi-autonomous drive mode (step S4). If the at least one authorization criterion is not met, the authorization device sends out an inquiry signal to an authorization device external to the vehicle (step S3b) and, depending on the external release signal received in response to the inquiry signal, forwards the enable signal to the control unit.
HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLE CONFIGURABLE IN A STAND-BY MODE OF OPERATION
A control unit for a heavy-duty vehicle, where the control unit is arranged to control the vehicle according to a mode of operation selected from at least three different modes of operation, wherein the mode of operation is configurable by a driver via a mode selection device, wherein a first mode of operation is a mode of operation wherein the vehicle is in an inactivated state, wherein a second mode of operation is a stand-by mode of operation where the vehicle is in an active state, and wherein the control unit is arranged to turn off a combustion engine of the vehicle in case a vehicle state meets a pre-determined power-down criterion, and wherein a third mode of operation is a mode of operation where the vehicle is in the active state.
Control authority transfer apparatus and method of autonomous vehicle
Disclosed is a control authority transfer apparatus of an autonomous vehicle, including a memory storing data on a plurality of users, and at least one processor setting driving operation priorities based on the data, wherein, in the state in which at least a part of autonomous driving control has failed, upon determining that a main user is in a state of being incapable of performing driving operation, the processor selects a first sub-user among a plurality of sub-users as a driving operation user according to the driving operation priorities, and selects a first device matching the first sub-user as a driving operation device.
DETERMINING DROP-OFF OR PICK-UP LOCATIONS FOR PASSENGERS OF VEHICLES
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for controlling operations of a vehicle configured for passenger service. In some implementations, a vehicle controller includes one or more processors communicably coupled to a memory, the one or more processors configured to determine an expected entry or exit point for the passenger of the vehicle. The one or more processors may be configured to detect whether an obstacle or hazardous condition is present at or near a site. The one or more processors may be configured to determine, in response to detecting that the obstacle or hazardous condition is present at or near the site, a drop-off or pick-up location associated with the site based at least in part on a position of the expected entry or exit point for the passenger of the vehicle and the detected obstacle or hazardous condition.
CONTENT PLAYER AND METHOD FOR CONTENT PLAYBACK
A content player calculates control duration during which control at a current control level continues, the current control level being one of a plurality of control levels of a travel control unit that controls travel of a vehicle; selects a piece of content such that time required for playback is shorter than the control duration, from among a plurality of pieces of content; and plays back the selected piece of content by an output device mounted on the vehicle when travel of the vehicle is controlled at the current control level.
Enhanced Rider Pairing for Autonomous Vehicles
Devices, systems, and methods are provided for enhanced rider pairing of an autonomous vehicle (AV). A system may pair a first user profile of a first user located at a first location with a first autonomous vehicle (AV) to complete a trip to a destination selected by the first user. The system may detect a second AV at the first location, wherein the second AV is associated with a second user profile. The system may connect the second AV with the first user using a connection mechanism. The system may select a profile status of the first user profile based on the connection to the second AV. The system may pair the first user profile with the second AV based on the profile status.
Rider Restrictions through Inter-Bicycle Communication
Electronic bicycles may communicate with each other to provide a communal biking experience to their riders. The electronic bicycles may collect rider data about their riders and may adjust the output parameters of the electronic bicycles based on the rider data. For example, the electronic bicycles may identify a weaker rider of the riders and may adjust the output parameters of the weaker rider's electronic bicycle to minimize a difference in the operation of the weaker rider's electronic bicycle and the stronger rider's electronic bicycle. Additionally, a parent rider may establish rider restrictions on an electronic bicycle ridden by a child.
