Occupant state detection system

An occupant state detection system includes first and second occupant monitoring apparatuses, a determination apparatus, and an occupant state detection apparatus. The first and second occupant monitoring apparatuses monitor a physical state of an occupant in a vehicle in different methods. The occupant state detection apparatus includes one or more first processors and one or more first memories. Upon receiving data indicating that the vehicle is in a stopped state from the determination apparatus, the one or more first processors cooperate with one or more programs in the one or more first memories to: make assignment of a part to be monitored and data to be acquired, of the occupant in the vehicle, to be detected by the first and second occupant monitoring apparatuses; and detect the physical state of the occupant on the basis of first and second occupant monitoring data from the first and second occupant monitoring apparatuses.

Method and apparatus are disclosed for secure idle for a vehicle generator. An example vehicle includes an outlet external to the vehicle, a power inverter dedicated to supplying AC power to the outlet, and a powertrain control module. The powertrain control module controls the power inverter to supply first power level when a switch is in a first position and a second power level when the switch is in a second position. Additionally, the powertrain control module, after entering a secure mode, controls an engine to remain idling when an ignition switch is off.

The systems and methods provided herein are directed to enabling a vehicle to enter into and/or exit from a transport mode using a backup fuse. The vehicle may enter into the transport mode from a normal mode when an ignition of the vehicle transitions from off to on if the backup fuse has been removed and the vehicle has been placed in park or neutral. The transport mode may, in part, reduce electrical loads and power as well as limit other components of the vehicle during shipping. The dealer, or other party, may remove the transport mode when the vehicle arrives and is ready to be sold. The vehicle may exit the transport mode when the backup fuse has been re-installed and the fuel cap or lid has been removed or opened, thus returning the vehicle to the normal mode.
