METHOD FOR STEERING A VEHICLE

A method for controlling a vehicle including an actuator along a trajectory, in which the trajectory is planned within a search space, and considers a projection of a manipulated variable of the actuator. The method includes creating an actuator model of the actuator on the basis of the manipulated variable of the actuator; defining time increments of the projection; determining the change in the manipulated variable of the actuator along the time increments on the basis of the actuator model and a limit value for the manipulated variable; limiting the search space on the basis of the limit value of the manipulated variable of the actuator; determining an acceleration value and/or a deceleration value of the vehicle by converting the manipulated variable using the vehicle mass and the wheel radius; and outputting the acceleration value and the deceleration value to limit the search space within which the trajectory is planned.

VEHICLE AUTOMATIC TRAVEL CONTROL DEVICE AND VEHICLE AUTOMATIC TRAVEL METHOD

An end point speed at an end point of inertial travel that a vehicle is controlled to perform in a short section l.sub.i is calculated using a weight, a start point speed, slopes, and a horizontal distance, based on a change in energy of the vehicle or an acceleration of the vehicle in the short section. In a case where the calculated end point speed is within a speed range, the vehicle is controlled to perform inertial travel in the short section. In this way, the speed of the vehicle in a case where the vehicle is controlled to perform inertial travel can be accurately calculated and the vehicle can be prevented from deviating from a set speed range at an early stage even when controlled to perform inertial travel, thereby increasing the distance traveled by inertial travel and effectively increasing fuel economy.

Methods and systems for activating electric vehicles are provided. One method includes, in response to a first command to activate the vehicle, transitioning the vehicle from an inactive state to a wake state where a controller of the vehicle is activated and the vehicle is prevented from being propelled by an electric motor of the vehicle. The method also includes, in response to receiving a second command to activate the vehicle after receiving the first command, transitioning the vehicle from the wake state to a ready state where the vehicle is permitted to be propelled by the electric motor.

VEHICLE REVERSE TRAVELING SPEED LIMITING APPARATUS
20170327096 · 2017-11-16 ·

A vehicle reverse traveling speed limiting apparatus includes a fluid pressure detector, a brake driver, a limiting speed setter, and a reverse traveling speed controller. The fluid pressure detector detects a brake fluid pressure. The brake driver causes a main brake to perform braking based on a set instruction fluid pressure. The limiting speed setter sets a limiting speed upon reverse traveling. The reverse traveling speed controller executes torque and brake controls to allow an actual vehicle speed of a vehicle to be maintained at the limiting speed. When the actual vehicle speed is higher than the limiting speed, the reverse traveling speed controller sets the instruction fluid pressure to allow the actual vehicle speed to be converged to the limiting speed, and executes, even when the brake fluid pressure is higher than the instruction fluid pressure, the brake control to allow the instruction fluid pressure to be maintained.

An on-vehicle system for assessing an operator's efficiency of a vehicle, include sensors, an audiovisual display device, a processor and a data storage. The sensors measure or detect conditions of components of the vehicle, and convert the detected conditions into analog or digital information. The data storage stores program instructions, the analog or digital information from the sensors, and other data. The program instructions, when executed by the processor, control the on-vehicle system to determine a state of the vehicle within a vehicle's environment based on the analog or digital information from the sensors, determine whether one or more of a predetermined set of behaviors has occurred based on the determined state of a vehicle, assess performance of the determined one or more of the predetermined set of behaviors, and present the operator, via the audiovisual display device, a feedback based on the assessment.
