Provided is a vehicle stop support system for supporting vehicle stop in an emergency condition. The vehicle stop support system sets a target time period based on physical abnormality of a driver; sets an allowable lateral acceleration, based on the abnormality; estimates a time period required to reach each of a plurality of stop point candidates; estimates a lateral acceleration to be generated during traveling of a vehicle to each of the candidates; sets a stop point; and controls the vehicle to travel to the stop point and stop at the stop point. The system is operable to set, as the stop point, one of the candidates which satisfies a condition that the lateral acceleration estimated with respect thereto is equal to or less than the allowable lateral acceleration, and the required time period estimated with respect thereto is equal to or less than the target time period.
Driving assistance system and driving assistance method
A driving assistance system and a driving assistance method are provided. The driving assistance system includes a physiological information sensing system, an external physical symptom detection system, and a processing device. The physiological information sensing system is configured to sense physiological information of a driver. The external physical symptom detection system is configured to detect an external physical symptom of the driver. The processing device is coupled to the physiological information sensing system and the external physical symptom detection system. When the physiological information of the driver and the external physical symptom of the driver are abnormal, the processing device initiates an emergency procedure.

An in-vehicle data collection and processing device receives real-time data from a plurality of sensors relating to at least one of a current vehicle condition and a current driver condition. The device then predicts, by processing at least a portion of the real-time data through a pre-trained pattern recognition algorithm, a likelihood of occurrence of at least one of a plurality of incidents involving the vehicle. In response, the device outputs one or more types of warnings and/or conducts a vehicle evasive maneuver if the likelihood is predicted to be above one or more thresholds.

A method and an apparatus for controlling an autonomous driving vehicle are provided. The method includes: receiving environment information sent by an autonomous driving vehicle, the environment information including vehicle exterior environment information; determining whether the autonomous driving vehicle is in an abnormal operation status, based on the vehicle exterior environment information and operation information of an operation executed by the autonomous driving vehicle; and sending a braking control instruction and a data acquisition instruction to the autonomous driving vehicle, in response to determining that the autonomous driving vehicle is in the abnormal operation status, the braking control instruction being used for controlling braking of the autonomous driving vehicle, and the data acquisition instruction being used for acquiring data of a driving recorder in the autonomous driving vehicle.

A vehicle control apparatus including circuitry configured to set a driving performance request in the given environments; determine whether driving performance of each of plural driving functions of a driver satisfies the driving performance request; and identify the driver's driving function that does not satisfy the driving performance request. On condition that an insufficient function is identified or the driving performance request is not satisfied, to realize the driving performance request, the circuitry is configured to perform at least one of controlling the vehicle such that the vehicle performs the identified insufficient function instead and providing the driver with an appropriate information so that the identified insufficient function close to a level of the driving performance request.

The circuitry is configured to change a first threshold, with which automated vehicle attitude stability control is initiated, so as to promptly execute the automated vehicle attitude stability control when a travel risk is not avoided by the driving ability, change a second threshold, with which automatic entry avoidance control is initiated, so as to promptly execute the automatic entry avoidance control when the traffic risk is not avoided by the driving ability, and control the vehicle to travel on a target travel route when the traffic risk and the travel risk are not avoided by the driving ability or when the driving ability is lower than a specified level.
