An apparatus includes at least one camera configured to capture an image of a traffic lane in front of a vehicle. The apparatus also includes a path tracking controller configured to detect lane boundaries and a path curvature for the traffic lane from the image, determine a lateral offset of the vehicle from a reference path for the traffic lane and a heading offset for the vehicle from the path curvature, determine a yaw rate maintaining the vehicle within the traffic lane using a kinematics control, determine a steering angle maintaining the vehicle within the traffic lane using a dynamics control and the yaw rate determined by the kinematics control, and activate a steering control based on the determined steering angle.
Prioritized constraints for a navigational system
Systems and methods are provided for vehicle navigation. In one implementation, a system may comprise at least one processor. The processor may be programmed to receive images representative of an environment of the host vehicle and analyze the images to identify a first object and a second object. The processor may determine a first predefined navigational constraint implicated by the first object and a second predefined navigational constraint implicated by the second object, wherein the first and second predefined navigational constraints cannot both be satisfied, and the second predefined navigational constraint has a priority higher than the first predefined navigational constraint. The processor may determine a navigational action for the host vehicle satisfying the second predefined navigational constraint, but not satisfying the first predefined navigational constraint and, cause an adjustment of a navigational actuator of the host vehicle in response to the determined navigational action.

An object is to provide technology capable of appropriately recognizing a travel path. A travel path recognition apparatus includes a travel path recognizer. The travel path recognizer calculates a traveling distance traveled by a vehicle from acquisition time of lane marking information to current time based on a vehicle speed of vehicle behavior. Then, the travel path recognizer determines whether or not the lane marking information is information within a usable period in which the lane marking information is usable to recognize the travel path based on a predetermined lane marking acquirable distance and the traveling distance. The predetermined lane marking acquirable distance is a distance in front of a position of the vehicle, and is a distance in which a lane marking of the lane marking information is acquirable.

A method for performing an at least partially automatic vehicle function of a vehicle depending on a travel route to be assessed by means of a driver assistance system is disclosed. The method comprises providing a plurality of clusters from route data with respect to at least one known travel route, wherein the clusters group the route data sectionwise according to predefined geometric parameters. The method comprises providing recorded course data that indicate a course of the travel route to be assessed and applying the clusters to the course data in order to divide the travel route to be assessed into route sections corresponding to the clusters. The method comprises determining at least one uncertainty quantity which is characteristic of an uncertainty with respect to the assignment made and determining a control quantity as a function of the uncertainty quantity and providing the control quantity for performing the vehicle function.
METHOD USED FOR DERIVING A CONTROL VARIABLE FOR LATERAL GUIDANCE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method used for deriving a control variable for lateral guidance of a motor vehicle by means of images of at least one camera of the motor vehicle, wherein the at least one camera captures images of a roadway. A more precise and/or resource-saving derivation of the control variable, and thus lateral guidance, of the motor vehicle is achieved by projecting a traffic lane to be followed as well as a travel trajectory of the motor vehicle onto the images, and by a control variable for lateral guidance of the motor vehicle being derived by comparing the traffic lane projected onto the images with the travel trajectory projected onto the images. A motor vehicle in which the method is performed is also described.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DRIVING ASSISTANCE ALONG A PATH
Various aspects of a system and method for driving assistance along a path are disclosed herein. In accordance with an embodiment, a unique identifier is received from a communication device at an electronic control unit (ECU) of a first vehicle. The unique identifier is received when the first vehicle has reached a first location along a first portion of the path. A communication channel is established between the first vehicle and the communication device based on the received unique identifier. Data associated with a second portion of the path is received by the ECU from the communication device based on the established communication channel. Alert information associated with the second portion of the path is generated by the ECU based on the received data.

In one aspect, an autonomous vehicle includes at least one perception sensor configured to generate perception data indicative of at least one other vehicle on a roadway, a non-transitory computer readable medium, and a processor. The processor is configured to determine that the other vehicle is violating one or more rules of the roadway based on the perception data, tag the other vehicle as a non-compliant driver, and modify control of the autonomous vehicle in response to tagging the other vehicle as a non-compliant driver.

The system includes: a sensor configured to measure movement data of a vehicle in real time; an artificial horizon device designed to generate an image of an artificial horizon in real time on the basis of the movement data of the vehicle; and a wearable augmented reality device designed to display the image of the artificial horizon in real time to an individual who is wearing the wearable device and is a passenger in the vehicle.
