Work tool collision avoidance method and system for a work machine
A method and a system for avoiding collision of an object with a work tool coupled to a work machine. The method comprising generating an object signal by an object detector, monitoring the object signal in real-time by a processor, processing the object signal to detect an object at least partially buried in the ground surface, determining a distance between the object and a distance threshold, and sending by a controller a control signal to one or more of a machine control system and a work tool control system to modify one or more of a movement of the work tool or the work machine based on the object reaching the distance threshold.
GENERATING SIMULATED AGENT TRAJECTORIES USING PARALLEL BEAM SEARCH
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generating simulated trajectories using parallel beam search.
Vehicle Travel Assistance Method and Vehicle Travel Assistance Device
A travel assistance method and a travel assistance device for a vehicle is capable of avoiding any risk that may arise. The method includes obtaining a risk potential of an object detected by the vehicle, associating the risk potential of the object with an encounter location at which the object is encountered, accumulating the risk potential at the encounter location, and using the accumulated risk potential to obtain a primary estimated risk potential of the object predicted to be encountered at the encounter location. The primary estimated risk potential is lower than the risk potential obtained when detecting the object. The method further includes obtaining a secondary estimated risk potential using a predicted travel movement of another vehicle that avoids a risk due to the primary estimated risk potential, and when traveling at the encounter location again, autonomously controlling travel of the vehicle using the secondary estimated risk potential.
METHOD FOR CALCULATING THE LATERAL POSITION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for calculating a lateral position of an ego motor vehicle on a traffic lane includes calculating a first theoretical lateral position of the ego vehicle, calculating a second theoretical lateral position of the ego vehicle, calculating a third theoretical lateral position of the ego vehicle, calculating the lateral position of the ego vehicle using a weighted average of the first lateral position, the second lateral position, and the third lateral position.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR VEHICLE MOTION PLANNING
This document discloses system, method, and computer program product embodiments for operating a robot. For example, the method includes: detecting an object in proximity to the robot; generating a path of travel for the object that is defined by a plurality of first data points representing different object locations in an area; generating cost curves respectively associated with the plurality of first data points; generating a polyline comprising a plurality of second data points associated with displacements of the cost curves from a particular location in the area; defining a predicted path of travel for the object based on the polyline; and using the predicted path of travel for the object to facilitate at least one autonomous operation of the robot.
Traffic-Rule-Compliant Decision-Making in Dynamic Traffic Scenarios
A method for determining a driving maneuver of a vehicle with a control unit includes receiving a measurement data relating to a traffic situation from a sensor, determining a current detection area of the sensor by evaluating the measurement data, and creating a sensor model based on the measurement data. An estimated detection area of the sensor from the measurement data is modelled through forward simulation based on a vehicle position of the vehicle. A change in the estimated detection area of the sensor due to a driving maneuver is determined along with the driving maneuver that causes an increase in the estimated detection area due to the sensor model.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OPERATING AN AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE
An autonomous vehicle (AV) includes features that allows the AV to comply with applicable regulations and statutes for performing safe driving operation. Example embodiments relate to an autonomous vehicle having a trailer coupled to a rear thereof. An example method includes continuously predicting a trailer trajectory that is distinct from a planned trajectory of the autonomous vehicle. The method further includes determining that the predicted trailer trajectory is within a minimum avoidance distance away from a stationary vehicle located on a roadway on which the autonomous vehicle is located. The method further includes modifying the planned trajectory of the autonomous vehicle such that the predicted trailer trajectory satisfies the minimum avoidance distance. The method further includes causing the autonomous vehicle to navigate along the modified trajectory based on transmitting instructions to one or more subsystems of the autonomous vehicle.
PSEUDO LIDAR
A navigation system for a host vehicle may include a processor programmed to: receive from a center camera onboard the host vehicle a captured center image including a representation of at least a portion of an environment of the host vehicle, receive from a left surround camera onboard the host vehicle a captured left surround image including a representation of at least a portion of the environment of the host vehicle, and receive from a right surround camera onboard the host vehicle a captured right surround image including a representation of at least a portion of the environment of the host vehicle; provide the center image, the left surround image, and the right surround image to an analysis module configured to generate an output relative to the at least one captured center image; and cause a navigational action by the host vehicle based on the generated output.
AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE POST-ACTION EXPLANATION SYSTEM
Among other things, techniques are described for notifying and explaining the action performed by an autonomous vehicle, including but not limited to: receiving a planned path of a vehicle, a state of the vehicle and environment data of an environment in which the vehicle is operating, receiving a deviation signal, determining whether the deviation signal was reported by a first system or a second system of the vehicle, in response selecting a first set of simulators or a second set of simulators for simulating the vehicle in the environment, simulating the vehicle in the environment using the selected first or second set of simulators, based on results of the simulating, generating a message and presenting the message to at least one occupant of the vehicle.
Method and Apparatus for Controlling Automated Vehicle
Monitoring driving safety information before a vehicle enters a curve or when the vehicle has entered the curve; obtaining a position of the vehicle in response to the driving safety information; obtaining curve information, where the curve information includes at least one of a position of a start point of the curve and a position of an end point of the curve; and controlling, based on the position of the vehicle and the curve information, the vehicle to stop at a position outside the curve.
