The method also includes ascertaining a driving maneuver that is to be expected, associating this driving maneuver with one of the at least two motoring comfort levels, and outputting advice to the occupants of the motor vehicle if the current motoring comfort level changes as a result. The method further includes automatically and actively taking measures relating to the interior to adjust the interior to suit the motoring comfort level that is to be expected.

This invention involves the effect of multiple rules of the road at different elevation profiles on the speed constraints and therefore the overall fuel efficiency. A vehicle designed to optimize fuel consumption that is comprised of the rules of the road that determine maximum speed, minimum speed, stop signs, streetlights, and/or changes in other rules that determine the allowable speeds of the road, a localization mechanism, and an optimization engine to optimize the fuel economy by selecting a speed profile within that maintains the vehicle within the assigned range of speeds and minimizes fuel consumption. A wide variety of methods that typically are used to optimize the fuel efficiency of human drivers operating standard vehicles can also be applied towards autonomous vehicles driving at different speed constraints and with different changes in the elevation.

The present disclosure relates to a method for the fully automated guidance of a motor vehicle by a vehicle system in a driving situation of at least one driving situation class, wherein the vehicle system has a control device and accesses position data of a position sensor. The method starts with providing a traffic rule database in which traffic rule sets for a plurality of geographic regions are stored in a machine-readable formal language and which can be accessed by the control device, and determining a geographical region currently traveled by the motor vehicle based on the current position data and retrieving a traffic rule set for the currently traveled geographical region from the traffic rule database via the control device. After or upon determination of a trajectory currently to be traveled by the control device, the vehicle system will verify the trajectory for compliance with traffic rules using the retrieved traffic rule set for the geographic region currently traveled by the control device, wherein the trajectory currently to be traveled is adjusted in the event of non-compliance, and guide the motor vehicle based on the trajectory currently to be traveled.

The method comprises predicting a target intersection based on map information, a positioning location of the vehicle, and a motion status of the vehicle, where the target intersection is an intersection that the vehicle is to first pass in the future; determining a distance between the vehicle and the target intersection based on the map information and the positioning location of the vehicle; collect a turn light status of the vehicle; and when the distance between the vehicle and the target intersection is less than a first threshold, generating prompt information based on the turn light status of the vehicle and a first turning rule of a first lane in which the vehicle is located at the target intersection, where the prompt information prompts that the turn light status does not conform to the first turning rule.
