In one implementation, a method for navigating a user vehicle may include acquiring, using at least one image capture device, a plurality of images of an area in a vicinity of the user vehicle; determining from the plurality of images a first lane constraint on a first side of the user vehicle and a second lane constraint on a second side of the user vehicle opposite to the first side of the user vehicle; enabling the user vehicle to pass a target vehicle if the target vehicle is determined to be in a lane different from the lane in which the user vehicle is traveling; and causing the user vehicle to abort the pass before completion of the pass, if the target vehicle is determined to be entering the lane in which the user vehicle is traveling.

Systems and methods for vehicle navigation

Systems and methods are provided for vehicle navigation. In one implementation, at least one processor may be programmed to receive, from a camera, a captured image representative of features in an environment of the vehicle. The processor may generate a warped image based on the received captured image, which may simulate a view of the features in the environment of the vehicle from a simulated viewpoint elevated relative to an actual position of the camera. The processor may further identify a road feature represented in the warped image, which may be transformed in one or more respects relative to a representation of the road feature in the captured image. The processor may then determine a navigational action for the vehicle based on the identified feature represented in the warped image and cause at least one actuator system of the vehicle to implement the determined navigational action.

A method for controlling a vehicle active chassis power system includes determining, via a processor, a minimum output voltage/current threshold for an aggregated power supply associated with an active chassis operation, and generating an aggregate State of Function (SoF) indicative of a maximum voltage/current budget for an output of the vehicle active chassis power system. The aggregate SoF is based on a primary power source voltage/current output and a power storage voltage/current output. The method further includes causing to control an active chassis power system actuator based on a minimum voltage/current value associated with the aggregate SoF. Causing to control the active chassis power system actuator can include publishing the aggregate SoF to a braking actuator, a steering actuator, or to a domain controller that actively distributes an aggregated power supply capability SoF to a braking actuator and a steering actuator based on one or more present vehicle states.

A lane departure prevention system includes a controller configured to control a braking force of vehicle wheels such that a lane departure prevention yaw moment is applied to a vehicle. The controller determines whether there is a likelihood that the vehicle enters a spinning state based on at least one of a difference between an actual yaw rate and a normative yaw rate of the vehicle calculated based on a steering angle, a vehicle speed, and the lane departure prevention yaw moment, and a degree of braking slip of a turning inside wheel when the lane departure prevention yaw moment is a yaw moment for preventing departure of the vehicle from a lane to a turning outside, and applies a spin prevention yaw moment to the vehicle when it is determined that there is a likelihood that the vehicle will enter the spinning state.

Automatically Determining an Updated Tire Size of Tires of a Vehicle and Influencing Operation of the Vehicle Based Thereon

Implementations described herein relate to leveraging corresponding streams of speed readings of a vehicle generated by different speed sensors of different computing devices to automatically determine an updated tire size of tires of the vehicle. For example, while a user of the vehicle is driving, a first stream of speed readings can be generated by a vehicle speed sensor of an in-vehicle computing device of the vehicle and a second stream of speed readings can be generated by a mobile speed sensor of a mobile computing device of the user of the vehicle. Processor(s) can obtain the different streams of speed readings from the different computing devices and process the different streams using various operations to determine the update tire size of the tires of the vehicle. The updated tire size can be subsequently utilized to update operational parameter(s) of the vehicle that influence how the vehicle operates.

An automated driving control device generates a first target trajectory that is the target trajectory for automated driving of the vehicle. The vehicle travel control device further determines whether or not an activation condition of travel assist control is satisfied. When the activation condition is satisfied, the vehicle travel control device generates a second target trajectory that is the target trajectory for the travel assist control. When the second target trajectory is generated during the automated driving, the vehicle travel control device determines whether or not a cancellation condition is satisfied. When the cancellation condition is satisfied, the vehicle travel control device cancels both the first target trajectory and the second target trajectory, and decelerates the vehicle.
