Method for controlling wheel slip of vehicle

A method for controlling wheel slip of a vehicle includes: observing and estimating equivalent inertia information of a driving system in real time based on operation information of the driving system by receiving the operation information of the driving system for driving the vehicle; calculating the compensated amount for compensating a torque command of a driving device from the equivalent inertia information of the driving system observed and estimated by a controller; compensating the torque command of the driving device by using the calculated compensated amount; and performing a control of a torque applied to a driving wheel according to the compensated torque command.

A method of managing operation of a machine is described herein. The machine includes drive components that supply a propulsive force exerted by the machine on a traveled surface. The machine includes a programmed controller that controls power output by a motor to the drive components of the machine, in accordance with a slippage model, to actively manage excessive slippage at a physical interface between the machine and the traveled surface. The programmed controller determines a track force indicative of the propulsive force exerted by the machine on the traveled surface. The programmed controller further determines a modeled slippage based, at least in part, upon the track force and the slippage model. The machine conditionally causes a reduction of the power output by the motor based upon a comparison, by the programmed controller, between the modeled slippage and a slippage limit.

A method for controlling torque reduction of a hybrid vehicle includes: determining a discharging torque control factor of a motor and a charging torque control factor of the motor based on a current state of charge of a battery that supplies electric power to the motor and a threshold state of charge of the battery; calculating a torque of the motor corresponding to driving torque reduction request of a traction control system (TCS) based on a discharging limit torque of the motor that the discharging torque control factor is reflected in and a charging limit torque of the motor that the charging torque control factor is reflected in; and calculating a torque of the engine corresponding to the driving torque reduction request based on the calculated torque of the motor and a request torque of the traction control system.

ADAPTIVE DRIVE CONTROL LOW-TRACTION DETECTION AND MODE SELECTION

A controller may indicate a low-traction mode of a vehicle when a longitudinal tracking accumulation exceeds a first threshold value and a lateral response accumulation exceeds a second threshold value. The longitudinal tracking accumulation may measure a tally of activation of a traction control system over time. The lateral response accumulation may measure a comparison of the vehicle yaw-rate to a driver-desired model-based prediction of the yaw-rate. The controller may indicate the low-traction mode by providing a recommendation to switch to the low-traction mode in a human-machine interface screen of the vehicle, or by automatically adjusting the operational mode of at least one electronic control unit of the vehicle to implement the low-traction mode.
