Validation of a therapeutic radiation treatment involves using an applicator balloon surrounding an X-ray radiation source to support a plurality of X-ray sensor elements (XRSE). The XRSE are supported on the applicator balloon at distributed locations to sense applied radiation from the radiation source. At least one parameter of the applied radiation which has been sensed by the XRSE is compared to a corresponding parameter of a predetermined radiation treatment plan. Based on the comparing, a determination is made as to whether one or more requirements of the predetermined radiation treatment plan have been satisfied.

Method for the determination of dual energy image data records and X-ray facility
A method for determining at least one three-dimensional image data record of a target area from two sets of projection images recorded with x-ray spectra using different energy maxima. A first set of projection images is recorded via a first X-ray spectrum and different first projection directions and a second set of projection images via a second X-ray spectrum and different second projection directions which differ at least partially from the first projection directions. A three-dimensional anatomy image data record is reconstructed from the first and the second projection images. A three-dimensional spectral image data record is reconstructed by a weighted combination of a first three-dimensional reconstruction image data record reconstructed from the first projection images, and a second three-dimensional reconstruction image data record reconstructed from the second projection images. The anatomy image data record and the spectral image data record are displayed.

A breast imaging apparatus includes a radiation generation unit configured to generate radiation and a radiation detection unit configured to detect radiation irradiation from the radiation generation unit and can rotate the radiation generation unit and the radiation detection unit in a state in which they face each other. Imaging is performed in a state in which a body part (breast) of an object to be imaged is sandwiched by a pressing panel on a first side of the breast imaging apparatus. In addition, imaging is performed while rotating the radiation generation unit and the radiation detection unit in a state in which the body part (breast) of the object to be imaged is inserted between the radiation generation unit and the radiation detection unit from a second side opposite to the first side of the breast imaging apparatus.

There is provided an image processing apparatus for reconstructing a tomographic image of a subject based on a plurality of projection images obtained by detecting radiation emitted from a plurality of different positions. The image processing apparatus reconstructs a first tomographic image from the plurality of projection images, extracts a fixed pattern occurring in the first tomographic image due to a radiation detector, and forms a second tomographic image by updating the first tomographic image using a value concerning intensity of the fixed pattern as a regularization term. The image processing apparatus outputs, as the tomographic image of the subject, the second tomographic image obtained by the update.
