Modular railcar underframe and top container
According to some embodiments, a modular railcar comprises: a pair of trucks disposed near each end of the modular railcar; an underframe coupled to the pair of trucks and supported by the pair of trucks. The underframe comprises a plurality of coupling apparatus. The plurality of coupling apparatus are configured to couple a modular top container to the underframe. According to some embodiments, a modular top container comprises: a floor panel configured to transport a lading; and a plurality of coupling apparatus coupled to the floor panel. The plurality of coupling apparatus are configured to couple the modular top container to a modular railcar. The floor panel is configured to support the weight of the lading when detached from the modular railcar.
Pocket protection device for trailers and trucks
A stake pocket protection device for providing protection to a stake pocket of the type commonly installed on trailer beds. The device having a planar base plate with an opening of dimensions approximate of the stake pocket, a retention portion and a securing portion in a J-shaped configuration. The device lies flat over the stake pocket with the opening lined up over the pocket such that a pin can slide into the stake pocket. Thereby the device holds the pin and adds more holding strength to the stake pocket.

Foldable railcar handhold
A foldable handhold assembly for attachment to a railroad flatcar includes a handhold that has a pair of side rails connected with a horizontal grab bar. A pair of brackets, which each have a mounting surface conforming to the shape of the flatcar sill. The brackets each have a hinge that rotatably couples to the proximate end of one of the side rail, which enables the handhold to rotate about the hinges between a deployed position where the grab bar extends above the flatcar deck and a stowed position where the handhold extends below the flatcar deck. One of the brackets also has latch aligned to selectively retain the handhold at the deployed position.
