Gap filler having a reduced bulk

The gap filling device includes a movable ramp that is movable in a horizontal direction between a retracted position within a housing arranged under a floor of the rail vehicle, and a deployed position extending out of the housing. The ramp further has an upper surface that is accessible in the deployed position. The ramp includes lateral flanged edges extending over at least a portion of the length of the ramp, with each being movable between a first position, in which this lateral flanged edge extends vertically projecting outwards in relation to the upper surface of the ramp up to a first height, and a second position, in which the lateral flanged edge extends up to a second height that is lower than the first height.

FOLDING STAIRCASE

A folding staircase for use in a door opening having a threshold. The folding staircase has a pair of stringers that have an upper end and a lower end that is adapted for contacting a ground surface. The stringers are spanned by at least one tread. A hinge is connected to a floor near the door opening and a threshold plate pivotally connected thereto is movable between a use position and a stowed position. The staircase may be provided with a lifting mechanism that biases the staircase and threshold plate toward their stowed positions. The lifting device provides a variable force that provides more rotational force when the staircase would require a user to bear more of its weight and less force when less of the weight of the staircase would be borne by a user.

A passenger rail vehicle includes at least one linearly movable step platform which is disposed in a boarding region of the rail vehicle and is used to bridge a gap in the horizontal direction between the boarding region of the rail vehicle and a station platform. The step platform includes a front section which forms part of a step surface of the step platform. The front section is mounted about a horizontal axis so that it can pivot on the step platform to form a ramp between a remaining step surface of the step platform and the station platform.

Movable footboard for a vehicle door

A movable footboard for a door of a rail vehicle comprises a footboard extendable below a tread strip at least substantially transversely to the direction of travel. To minimize the level difference between the footboard and the tread strip a pivot shaft extends at least substantially parallel to the direction of travel on at least one longitudinal bar of the footboard at the end region of the footboard away from the vehicle, about which pivot shaft at least two pivoting bars are pivotably supported, which pivoting bars each bear a transverse profile element, each of the pivoting bars being rigidly connected to the transverse profile element associated with the pivot bar, while the other transverse profile elements lie freely on said pivot bar, and a lifting mechanism is fastened to the vehicle and lifts the transverse profile element located directly in front of the tread strip.
