HOPPER RAILROAD CAR FLEXIBLE TOP HATCH COVER
A hopper railroad car hatch cover including an elongated movable flexible hatch including an elongated flexible panel and an elongated magnetic coaming sealer connected to the bottom of the elongated movable flexible panel, wherein the elongated magnetic coaming sealer is configured, such that when the elongated movable hatch of the hatch cover is in the closed position on a coaming of a hopper railroad car, the elongated magnetic coaming sealer engages and creates a seal with the coaming.
Railroad hopper car
Disclosed is a railway hopper car comprising a car body (6), a top cover (1, 2), a bogie (24), a braking device (21), a coupler buffer device (22), and a bottom door (25, 28) and a bottom door opening and closing mechanism (23) mounted at a discharge port at the bottom of a chassis. The railway hopper car further comprises a longitudinal saddle (31) disposed in the center of the car body (6) in the length direction thereof and arranged along the longitudinal direction of the car body (6). By providing the longitudinal saddle (31), the sequential requirement to close the left bottom door (25) and the right bottom door (28) is eliminated, thereby simplifying the structure of the linkage bottom door opening and closing mechanism and reducing manufacture and maintenance costs thereof.
Cover apparatus for an open top container such as a railcar hopper
A cover apparatus for selectively covering the open top of a container may include a pair of tracks for mounting on the sides of the container, a cover movably mounted on the pair of tracks. The cover may include a pair of cover assemblies movable toward each other to produce a closed condition and movable away from each other to produce an open condition. Each of the cover assemblies may be positionable at an end of the container and have a portion movable toward a center of the open top. A cover movement assembly may be configured to move the cover assemblies on the tracks toward each other into the closed condition and away from each other into the open condition.
Wagon and vehicle body assembly thereof
A wagon and a car body assembly thereof are provided. The car body assembly includes at least two bogies, an underframe and a car body both supported on the two bogies, the car body includes a middle car body, and a discharge opening of the middle car body is arranged between the two bogies, and at least one end of the middle car body is further provided with an end car body, and a predetermined space is defined above the respective bogie by adjacent end walls of the middle car body and the end car body.
RAILWAY HOPPER CAR
Bridge crane apparatus for opening and closing railcar lids
A bridge-supported tool for opening and closing lids located on top of railcars. The bridge has two sides and a cross member between the sides that moves along the sides, the cross member supports a tool carriage that moves along the cross member, the tool carriage has a tool engagement interface for retaining a selected tool and the interface is vertically moveable, such that the tool is moveable to any selected location in the space defined by the bridge. A controller can be used to direct the positioning of the tool by controlling the movements of the cross member, tool carriage and tool engagement interface.
Railcar systems and cargo transportation methods
Cargo transport systems and cargo transport vessels that are used in combination with removable carriers that can be loaded and unloaded into the cargo transport vessel, and methods of using these systems, vessels, and removable carriers.
COMMODITY MEASURING FOR A RAILCAR
According to some embodiments, a system for determining a characteristic of a bulk lading of a railcar comprises a sensor (e.g., infrared, radio, electrical, optical, etc.) operable to determine a characteristic of a bulk lading; a controller communicably coupled to the sensor and configured to control sensor operations; and a display communicably coupled to the sensor and configured to display a representation of the determined characteristic of the bulk lading. In particular embodiments, the sensor may detect a moisture content of the bulk lading or a foreign substance in the bulk lading. At least one of the sensor, the controller, and the display may comprise a power source. At least one of the controller and the display may be wirelessly coupled to the sensor.
Cover assemblies for railroad cars
Cover assemblies for railroad cars are disclosed. In some embodiments, the cover assemblies include a cover pivotably movable between closed and open positions. The cover assemblies additionally include a lid stop assembly including a release handle positioned adjacent to a cover handle and a first locking element operatively connected to the release handle. The lid stop assembly additionally includes a second locking element attached to, or formed with, the housing. The first locking element moves between a locking position in which the first locking element engages the second locking element to secure the cover in the open position, and a releasing position in which the first locking element is spaced from the second locking element allowing the cover to be moved from the open position toward the closed position. The release handle allowing the user to move the first locking element between the locking and releasing positions.
System and method for powered railcar doors
In one embodiment, a system includes a first door assembly operable to at least partially cover an opening of a rail car. The system also includes an actuator. A first common linkage is coupled to the actuator and is operable to reciprocally move in a longitudinal direction relative to the actuator. In particular embodiments, a first secondary linkage is coupled to the first common linkage and is coupled to an exterior surface of the first door assembly, wherein the first secondary linkage cooperates with the first common linkage to move the first door assembly between an open position and a closed position over the top hatch of the rail car.
