The present invention relates to bumper guard and side post guard apparatuses for use with an auto-rack railcar side panel. The bumper guard and side post guard apparatuses prevent vehicles from being damaged when stored and transported within an auto-rack railcar, such as when vehicle doors are opened, where vehicle doors may otherwise contact the side panels and side posts of the auto-rack railcar. Methods of using the same are further provided.

RAILROAD CAR WITH COUNTERMEASURE STRUCTURES THAT MINIMIZE THE LIKELIHOOD OF DEFLAGRATION AND DETONATION HAZARDS FROM GASEOUS HYDROGEN FUEL STORAGE AND SUPPLY COMPONENTS THEREOF

Railroad cars with countermeasure structures that minimize the likelihood of deflagration and detonation hazards in gaseous hydrogen fuel storage and supply component in one or more of the compartments of such railroad cars.

Railcar fixtures for transportation of wind turbine blades and method involving same

A transport system for transporting a wind turbine blade on first and second railcars that serve as load cars. A root end fixture on the first railcar is connected to a root end portion of the wind turbine blade. A mid-frame fixture on the second railcar supports a reinforced midsection of the wind turbine blade using a pair of support saddles. A tip end fixture restrains a tip end portion of the wind turbine blade against lateral movement outside of a preselected range of movement in opposite lateral directions and causing bending of the blade about the mid-frame fixture when the restraint device imparts sufficient restraining force to the tip end portion of the blade.

RAIL CAR SIDE SCREEN PROTECTOR

A protector for a railway car interior, such as an autorack car designed to transport automobiles. The protector is installed on and covers the sidewall of a railway car to provide a barrier between the car and the sidewall to prevent damage to automobiles being transported in the rail car. The protector has two bumpers that are connected to a body and are deflectable to provide expanded zones of protection when contacted by an object. The protector may be provided in different lengths to provide a suitable span of coverage of a railway interior structure when the protectors are arranged adjacently, horizontally along a sidewall of the rail car at suitable heights to provide protection. The outwardly projecting bumpers provide a protective barrier between the automobile, such as a door panel, and the railway sidewall or other structure. A railcar configured with protectors also is provided.

Railway vehicle with collision-protecting crushable areas

A railway vehicle includes a carbody frame which includes a roof, a bottom side opposed to and spaced apart from the roof, two opposite sides, a front end face, and a rear end face opposite to the front end face. The roof, the bottom side, the two opposite sides and the front and rear end faces delimit altogether an inner space. One or more posts are positioned at at least one of the front and rear end faces and extend, along a substantially vertical axis, for at least a portion of a vertical distance existing between the roof and the bottom side. One or more crushable devices are connected to and extend along the substantially vertical axis for at least a predominant portion of the vertical extension of an associated post of the one or more posts.
