LOADING-RAMP SAFETY DEVICE
The invention relates to a loading-ramp safety device (10) for a loading ramp (14) to be laid onto a truck (12), comprising a signal device (20) associated with the loading ramp and a blocking device (22) associated with the truck. According to the invention, the signal device is designed to send a signal (24) regarding the loading situation at the loading ramp, and the blocking device is arranged on board the truck and furthermore is designed to receive the signal and to prevent the truck from moving away from the loading ramp in accordance with the signal.
INTERMODAL TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM INCLUDING GUIDE RAILS AND AUTONOMOUS TRANSPORT DOLLIES
An intermodal transportation system is provided having interconnected railcars adapted for transporting interconnected freight trailers where the freight trailers remain connected while being transported on the railcars. Individual trailers are dropped off at a railyard by over-the-road tractors and are then transported onto the railcars using various means as makes sense due to weather, location, and other factors
TIE-ARRANGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD OF DELIVERING TIES
Tie-arrangement system includes a conveyor assembly configured to receive ties for placement in a track for rail vehicles. The conveyor assembly is configured to receive the ties in a common plane relative to each other. The tie-arrangement system includes an accumulator assembly configured to receive the ties in the common plane from the conveyor assembly. The accumulator assembly is configured to arrange the ties in a same orientation in groups and to move the groups of the ties out of the accumulator assembly. The tie-arrangement system includes a delivery assembly configured to receive the groups of the ties arranged by the accumulator assembly into the same orientation. The delivery assembly is configured to place the groups of the ties onto a surface off the tie-arrangement system for placement of the ties in the track for the rail vehicles.
IMPACT DETECTION DEVICE FOR A SYSTEM FOR LOCKING THE KINGPIN OF A SEMITRAILER ON A RAILWAY UNIT
An impact detection device for a system for locking the kingpin of a semitrailer on a railway unit includes a rigid connecting piece connected to a kingpin receiving structure and a connecting shaft connecting the rigid connecting piece to the railway unit, mounted on the railway unit, received with the ability to pivot in an oblong provided in the rigid connecting piece and capable of moving in the oblong. The device also includes a shear pin that prevents the connecting shaft from moving in the oblong and which breaks in the event of an impact so as to allow the connecting shaft to move in the oblong, a bypass pipe mounted as a bypass on the general pipe of the railway unit, and a cutoff tool secured to the railway unit, which cuts off the bypass pipe when the shear pin is broken and a connecting shaft is moving in the oblong.
Apparatus and method for intermodal container handling
A ship to railroad intermodal freight system. In an embodiment, a conveyor system is provided for placing railroad cars in a position for loading shipping containers thereon. Railroad cars have a frame with a front end and a rear end, supported between bogies. Conveyor hooks are pivotally mounted to the frame, and a guide roller with hook guide is provided to adjustably support the conveyor hook(s) below the frame of the railroad car. A method for loading or unloading the railroad cars includes lifting a conveyor hook from a drag chain conveyor using the interaction of the guide roller with a pivot board mounted at the chain conveyor, while shipping container(s) are placed on the railroad car. By utilizing the method, efficient loading and unloading of railcars involved in ship to railroad intermodal shipments may save considerable time, and thus reduce costs.
METHOD TO TRANSPORT GOODS, GOODS-CARRYING RAIL VEHICLE, AND GOODS TERMINAL
The present disclosure relates to an autonomous rail transport system with the aid of a rail network. The rail transport system according to the disclosure comprises at least one autonomous goods-carrying rail vehicle and at least two autonomous goods terminals. The goods-carrying rail vehicle is designed to transport at least one item of goods while the goods terminals are each designed to receive and/or release at least one item of goods. The item of goods is transported autonomously from a first goods terminal to a second goods terminal with the aid of the goods-carrying rail vehicle on the rail network. The rail network of the rail transport system according to the disclosure is a streetcar-line network.
Platform lift for railroad car moving vehicle
A railroad car moving vehicle comprises a chassis, the chassis including at least two ground wheels and at least two track wheels; a platform moveably mounted on the chassis; a platform lifting apparatus configured to move the platform between a raised position and a lowered position relative to the chassis, the platform lifting apparatus including a platform lifting cylinder operatively coupled between the chassis and the platform; and at least one locking leg, the locking leg positionable between an extended position and a stowed position, the locking leg preventing lowering of the platform when in the extended position.
Method and apparatus for intermodal container handling
A rail-road intermodal freight system. In an embodiment, a conveyor system is provided for placing rail cars in a position for loading shipping containers thereon, while an over-the-road trailer is secured to the rail car. Rail cars have a frame with a front end and a rear end, and a bogie having at least four flanged rail wheels is pivotally mounted to the rear of the frame of the rail car. A method for unloading the rail cars includes lifting the front of the frame of the rail cars and pivoting the rail cars by an angle alpha from the track direction at an unloading area, and lowering the front end of the frame to the ground to allow truck access to trailers on the rail car. By utilizing the method, efficient loading and unloading of train involved in intermodal shipments may save considerable time, and thus reduce costs.
