The disclosure provides a chassis component of a railway vehicle, and a railway vehicle, the chassis including two lower boundary beams, the two lower boundary beams being provided at an interval; and a cross beam component, the cross beam component being provided between the two lower boundary beams, wherein there are a plurality of cross beam components, and the plurality of cross beam components are provided along a length direction of each of the lower boundary beams at an interval, wherein at least one cross beam component includes a first cross beam and a second cross beam provided below the first cross beam in a height direction of the each of the lower boundary beams, the first cross beam and the second cross beam form a mounting cavity, and a part of a floor of a railway vehicle penetrates into the mounting cavity.

A longitudinal support includes first and second longitudinal support portions being offset in longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The fuel tank is disposed in longitudinal direction between the first and second longitudinal support portions. The first support is coupled to the first and second longitudinal support portions. At least portions of the first support are disposed in the tank interior space in the longitudinal direction. The first support running in the longitudinal direction is disposed between the first and second longitudinal support portions. The first support is configured for fully transmitting a force acting between the first and second longitudinal support portions in longitudinal direction of the vehicle.

Modular Railcar Underframe and Top Container

According to some embodiments, a modular railcar comprises: a pair of trucks disposed near each end of the modular railcar; an underframe coupled to the pair of trucks and supported by the pair of trucks. The underframe comprises a plurality of coupling apparatus. The plurality of coupling apparatus are configured to couple a modular top container to the underframe. According to some embodiments, a modular top container comprises: a floor panel configured to transport a lading; and a plurality of coupling apparatus coupled to the floor panel. The plurality of coupling apparatus are configured to couple the modular top container to a modular railcar. The floor panel is configured to support the weight of the lading when detached from the modular railcar.

According to some embodiments, a modular railcar comprises: a pair of trucks disposed near each end of the modular railcar; an underframe coupled to the pair of trucks and supported by the pair of trucks. The underframe comprises a plurality of coupling apparatus. The plurality of coupling apparatus are configured to couple a modular top container to the underframe. A metal cover plate includes a first section and a second section. The first section includes a first end and an outer perimeter. The outer perimeter includes a termination end. The termination end is generally opposite the first end. The first section defines a hole. The second section includes a first end and an outer perimeter. The second section is coupled at the first end of the second section to the first end of the first section and extends from the first end of the first section in a direction generally opposite the termination end of the first section. The metal cover plate is welded to a railcar along the outer perimeter of the first section and the outer perimeter of the second section.

STEEL GONDOLA RAILCAR

A gondola car is made of high strength and high abrasion resistance steel that provides a lightweight structure and that prolongs the useful life of the car. The high strength and high abrasion resistance steel enhances the strength of the gondola car without increasing its thickness. The contemplated railcar positions components (e.g., side posts and cross-bearers) of the railcar away from areas of the railcar that experience high stresses during transport. In this manner, these components can be welded to form the railcar, and the welds will experience less stress during transport resulting in less weld breaks. Additionally, the number of components (e.g., side posts and cross-bearers) may be reduced, which reduces the weight of the railcar.
