RAILCAR TRUCK ROLLER BEARING ADAPTER-PAD SYSTEMS
A railcar truck and adapter pad system for placement between a roller bearing and side frame pedestal roof of a three-piece railcar truck. Many different features of the pad and/or the adapter-pad interface are configured to improve stiffness characteristics to satisfy both curving and high speed performance of the railcar truck.

Bearing adapter side frame interface for a railway car truck
The invention relates to a railway car truck incorporating an interconnection between a side frame and a bearing adapter. The bearing adapter may receive a reduced coefficient of friction surface member in a recess on a top surface of the bearing adapter, facilitating a reduced lateral spring rate of the wheelset. Alternatively, or in combination, an adapter plate is received in the pedestal jaw on the bearing adapter to retain the reduced coefficient of friction surface member above or below the adapter plate. The adapter plate may be provided with surfaces about perpendicular to the longitudinal and lateral axes of the side frame to support elastomeric members, which may provide different longitudinal and lateral spring rates in response to a load applied to the truck.

Longitudinal Support And Transverse Support For A Chassis Frame Of A Rail Vehicle
A longitudinal support and a transverse support for a chassis frame of a rail vehicle, wherein the longitudinal support includes a first box-shaped connection portion having a sectionally straight first circumferential edge for connection to the transverse support, where the transverse support has a second box-shaped connection portion having a sectionally straight second circumferential edge for connection to the longitudinal support within a transverse direction of the chassis frame, respectively on the end side, and where the first and second circumferential edges are each configured as four first and second connection edges to achieve a reduction of the weight of the longitudinal support and of the transverse support, and to lower the twisting rigidity of the chassis frame, where the connection edges are separated from each other by first and second recesses.

RAILCAR SAFETY APPLIANCES
According to some embodiments, a railcar comprises a well component disposed between a pair of trucks. A pair of end sections are disposed at each end of the railcar. An end section comprises a well platform disposed near an end of the well component; an end platform disposed near an end of the railcar; and a connecting platform extending between the end platform and the well platform. A pair of ladders may be coupled to each end of the end platform. A first handrail may extend between the ladders and along an outside edge of the end platform. A second handrail may extend from a ladder, along an inside edge of the end platform, along an edge of the connecting platform, and along an inside edge of the well platform. A third handrail may extend along an edge of the well platform adjacent to the well component.
