BEARING ABNORMALITY SENSING SYSTEM FOR RAILWAY VEHICLE
20170176287 · 2017-06-22 · ·

Provided is a railway vehicle bearing abnormality sensing system that can accurately perform abnormality determination for railway vehicle bearings. The system (100) senses an abnormality in a plurality of rolling bearings (17) housed in an axle box (3) provided to a bogie (2). The system (100) includes: vibration detection devices (15) each detecting vibration of a rolling bearing; an analysis device (6) determining an abnormality in the bearings (17) on the basis of detection data detected by the device (15); and reception response detection start module (13) receiving a detection start signal and cause the device (15) to detect vibration of the rolling bearing. The system (100) further includes a measurement start command transmitting device (4), installed apart from a railway vehicle, transmitting the detection start signal to the module (13).

RAILCAR ADAPTER FOR CONNECTING A RAILCAR BODY TO A BEARING
20170137040 · 2017-05-18 · ·

A railcar adapter for connecting a railcar body to a bearing is provided. The railcar adapter includes an adapter body having two lateral channels each delimited by a pair of opposed lugs adapted to cooperate with the railcar body, an inner surface acting as a bearing seat for the bearing and an outer surface in radial contact with the railcar body. The inner surface includes at least one central groove located on a first axis of symmetry of the railcar adapter emerging in each lateral channel. The inner surface further provides a second central groove located on a second symmetry axis of the railcar adapter, perpendicular to the first symmetry axis.

Railcar adapter for connecting a railcar body to a bearing providing an adapter body having two lateral channels each axially delimited by a pair of opposed lugs and a lateral surface perpendicular to the opposed lugs, each lateral channel being adapted to cooperate with the railcar body. The railcar adapter further provides swivelling means allowing swivelling of the railcar adapter relative to the railcar body.

RAILROAD CAR ROLLER BEARING ADAPTER ASSEMBLY

A railroad car bearing adapter assembly configured to be employed in combination with a high warp restraint truck (with or without an auxiliary or original warp restraint system), and including a low profile thickness and relatively longitudinally narrow roller bearing adapter, a low profile adapter shear pad with a shear stiffness in a range of 85,000 lbs/in to 125,000 lbs/inch, and side wear pad that in combination total clearance in a range of 0.09 inches to 0.36 inches between the side frame thrust lugs and the adapter with the side wear pads. This overall combination reduces wheel wear and damage, reduces fuel consumption, reduces the need for railroad track repair, improves high speed stability and curving performance for both empty cars and loaded cars, provides more truck stability under a loaded car in shallow curves and while encountering certain perturbations, and provides optimum curving performance that enables the axles to better align with curves of relatively high degrees.

Low-friction dynamic seal

A sealing arrangement, for sealing of a radial gap between relatively rotatable inner and out components, whereby the inner component is rotational about an axis of rotation and the outer component is coaxially arranged around the inner component. The sealing arrangement comprises: a dynamic seal part mountable to the inner component; a static seal part mountable to the outer component; and first and second labyrinth seals, each being formed by a gap between at least one set of opposing surfaces on the static and dynamic seal parts, and a lip seal arranged radially between the first and second labyrinth seal. The lip seal comprises a sealing lip connected to the dynamic seal part and bears against a radially oriented counterface on the static seal part. The sealing lip has a longitudinal extension in a radial cross section that extends towards the rotation axis at an angle between 10 and 80.
