Rail vehicle and coupling box thereof
A coupling box of a rail vehicle, including a fixed portion fixedly mounted on a vehicle body and a movable portion connecting to a coupler and draft gear; the movable portion is connected to an inner end of the fixed portion by means of a constant-force connecting member, the constant-force connecting member is broken when the coupler and draft gear pushes the movable portion to move inwardly at the time of a collision, so that the movable portion and the fixed portion are able to be separated from each other.
ENERGY DISSIPATION DEVICE
An energy dissipation device is shown in connection with its implementation in train couplers. The energy dissipation device comprises axially compressible, irreversibly deforming steel elements arranged in a housing and axially pre-tensioned between a compression means and a counter-pressure means. In case of an impact, the compression means is moving in sliding contact with the inside wall of the housing to provide axial compression of the energy absorbing elements while preserving the integrity of the housing.

COUPLER FOR A RAIL VEHICLE AND A RAIL VEHICLE WITH A COUPLER
A coupler for coupling a railway vehicle to another railway vehicle, comprising a mounting arm for mounting the coupler to a railway vehicle, a coupling arm, and a joint, wherein the mounting arm and the coupling arm are connected to each other via the joint in such a way that the mounting arm and the coupling arm are movable relative to each other and the coupling arm can be brought into a pivoted position. The coupler further comprises a coupler deflecting device to deflect the coupler in a pivoted position when it comes into contact with another coupler.
Energy dissipating device suitable to be used as part of a connection device that connects a first car of a multi-car vehicle with a second car of a multi-car vehicle and method for dissipating energy in a connection device
The invention relates to an energy dissipating device suitable to be used as part of a connection device that connects a first car of a multi-car vehicle with a second car of the multi-car vehicle, comprising a plug that has a longitudinal axis and a mandrel that has an opening, whereby the plug is arranged to be moved at least partially through the opening, if a force pointing in the longitudinal axis is applied to the plug, and whereby at least a part of the plug—especially its hull—is deformed, when the plug is at least partially moved through the opening, whereby said hull being at least partially deformed, when the plug is at least partially moved through the opening. The hull is attached to the rod by clamping or fixing with fasteners, preferably with protrusions around the rod and/or at least one plug or nut. The hull is a relatively independent element which can be put over a rod and therefore the hull can be mounted or unmounted subsequently to a rod without influencing the stability or main function of the connection device.

Articulated joint connection device, and coupling device with a coupling bar with coupling bar parts which can be connected via an articulated joint connection device
An articulated joint connection device force-transmits the connection of two components, each extending along a common longitudinal axis in a first working position, and for pivoting one of the two components relative to the other component about a pivot axis, which is arranged perpendicularly and parallel to the longitudinal axis, into at least one other, second working position. Furthermore, a coupling device, particularly for rail vehicles, has a coupling bar with two components which are coupled together via such an articulated joint connection device. The design configuration of the coupling elements is characterized by a drawbar sleeve joint connection.
SELECTIVE CUSHION UNIT YOKE WITH INTEGRAL DRAFT GEAR HOUSING
A cushioning apparatus for a railway car employs a shortened yoke having a draft gear housing integral with the yoke. A stack elastomeric pads is provided in the housing, and a second stack of elastomeric pads and corresponding rigid metal plates, is positioned in the sill behind the modified yoke to absorb buff loads on the coupler. In embodiments, the entire assembly may be placed in a sill having forward stops, intermediate stops, and rear stops.

Hybrid cushioning apparatus with draft gear
A hybrid cushioning apparatus for a railway car apparatus employs a standard yoke and a conventional draft gear forward of the tail of the yoke and a stack of elastomeric units behind the tail engaging the draft gear with a force transfer member.
